Food was not great. The best part was the Jambalaya rice. I was not a fan of the shrimp tacos. They were dry and the shrimp was so overcooked it was crunchy and not in a good way. Had been waiting to try and was underwhelmed with the food.

The fresh lemonade was sooooo good. The queso was good, tad spicy. Quesadillas were meh. Chicken was shredded, and it was just cheese, Chicken and I think salsa inside of it. Overall, it's pretty flavorless and soggy. Baja shrimp tacos were delicious. Our server was average. Would have been better if she conducted the typical 2 minutes 2 bite check back, and we could have told her our quesadillas came out originally as just cheese and no chicken. It was fixed, tho. Overall, I'd try it again. Just get something other than the quesadillas.

Just went yesterday. The waiters were dressed in costumes and very friendly. The food is always good and always has a little spice to it. I took a star off because they don't have a huge menu if you like to try different things, but what they do have is very good.
Kid-friendliness: They have a nice little kid menu with quesadillas and other items.

My first time coming here. My sister said she has been here before and that the margaritas were good and the queso so I had to find out for myself. We both got the strawberry daiquiri on the rocks and let me tell you these were really strong. One was good for me. After a few sips I was feeling tipsy and that barely ever happens. I had to water it down some and put some lemon in it that’s how strong it was for me and my sister. ?The queso was really delicious just a tad bit spicy and the chips and salsa was good and the chips were really fresh and delicious.I ordered the shrimp tacos fajitas they were good too but they give you a side of the chipotle mayo which is a nice gesture but that stuff is hot. The fries were really skinny and I’ve never had fries like that but I don’t really like them because they were hard. Next time I’ll get a different side. Our waiter TAFARI W he is a whole vibe his personality is great and has a good sense of humor and just a wonderful waiter to have. He is always pleasant and always comes back to see how you’re doing and if you want anything else.Today was 81 degrees and beautiful out we sat outside. What a lovely Saturday. Great experience I had.

3 of us visited here and we all liked what we got. The fajita onions were a little too salty for my liking, but otherwise everything was great. Very attentive staff. Everyone was so nice too. We'll be

I’d planned to try this place for months. I finally had the chance to try it. Well, it’s safe to say that I won’t be back there. The food was extremely salty. The salsa was like no other I’ve ever had and not in a good way. My salad was drowned in salad dressing which rendered the lettuce wilted. The only redeeming item was the Pastelitos. Those were delicious! I can’t say too much about the service as I took my meal to go, but it took twice as long to prepare as was claimed on the order email. I would have given it one star had it not been for the Pastelitos earning it that second star.

The food was extremely salty. The only thing I enjoyed was the pastalitos - the chimichuri sauce was phenomenal. I got the Don Julio margarita and it tasted like there was barely any tequila. Very disappointing, as my husband and I love the one in

They obviously had messed up my son's order, it happens. I'd rather have them tell me they messed up vs not saying anything. I'm in the business so I know that this stuff happens. I saw how the server was constantly checking on it multiple times. The reason I know that my son's order was messed up was because his tortillas were fresh, mine were harder and obviously under a heat lamp.Having said the above, I will give them another shot. I've eaten in their restaurants up north and was never displeased. Special instructions for a menu item suck for a restaurant because it switches EVERYTHING from I can easily make the base to now I have to read every little thing and they are trying to get it done as quickly a as possible. Happens daily, ppl in restaurants are human. It's not 1990 when those special instructions on every single order absolutely did not exist. Now everyone has special requests.Always give a restaurant a second opportunity to show you that they have great food.

Great place. Smelled brand new inside so I asked the host and she said it just opened in December. Excellent and funny waitstaff. Great food! Queso was delicious! Can't wait to try it again!
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options besides just plain rice and beans. So yummy!
Dietary restrictions: Nut free place!

We decided to try Jose Tejas’ Mount Laurel location for dinner and had a wonderful meal. Our server went above and beyond. To say they were accommodating would be an understatement. I have dietary restrictions and they were absolutely amazing when it came to accommodating them. Our food was amazing and the margaritas were the best I’ve ever had. We will definitely be returning!
Vegetarian options: I follow a plant based diet and they were incredibly accommodating. I opted for black bean tacos with pico de gallo and grilled avocado with mango salsa with a side of chips and salsa.

I used to eat at the Jose Tejas in Iselin, NJ. This one is closer to me. The food is really delicious with generous portions. My pulled Enchiladas were great, will order it again. Will return soon!!

I’ve passed this place a million times but never stopped in. We finally decided to go! We sat at the bar and had margaritas and chips and guac. The service was great, the chips were fresh and hot, the guac was delish, and the drinks were pretty good. The food around us looked great too. The atmosphere, on the other hand, left me wanting more. The music was loud and weird for the vibe - it was like honky tonk country music. And the crowd was mostly families with kids or older folks when we went on a Friday at 7pm. Not sure I’d go back but the food might bring me back because it did look good.

How can you screw up fajitas so badly??? After waiting for an hour on a Thursday evening the server brought out our 2 fajita orders saying they took so long because they made them fresh and hot! No! They were not hot and the chicken tenders were over cooked and dried out! One skimpy sautéed onion! Where are all the fresh veggies in this dish? The tortillas are too doughy and chewy! Pancheros have much better fresh tortillas. Manager came over and offered to recook a fajita which makes no sense to me! Didn’t like this order and wasn’t about to sit for another hour to retaste these disgusting so called fajitas! Sorry to say this was one of the worse meals I’ve had in a long time and would not recommend Jose Tejas!!

Very clean, great hospitality. Manager is very hospitable and our server was very accommodating. Highly recommend trying it out. You wont be disappointed.Recommend the starter,Steak quesadilla. Its different, pulled pork style, yet skirt steak. Juicy and tender. You wont be disappointed. My steak fajita was on point as well. Nothing bad to say about this place. Great food and great service.

Update: we went back again last night for dinner and our server was Tess; she is amazing! She is attentive and entertaining. The food was spot on as before, the lemonade was just right and the sangria was delicious. We went here during lunchtime. The place was clean, our server was prompt with greeting us after we were seated; she checked on us regularly. All of the staff that passed our table, would stop and see if we needed anything. The food and drinks were good.
