Leaving a review to spare others the pain and suffering of assuming chips and salsa are complimentary for online orders. We have done pick-up/ to-go orders for years and always got them. If you're ordering online you must order and pay for chips and salsa or you'll get skunked. 3 stars because Food is always good. For those thinking im cheap, I Would have had no problem paying for the chips and salsa had i known.

The owner doesn't care about health problems as they constantly leave their garbage dumpsters uncovered which attracts numerous crows that drop their feces all over. Very disgusting and unhealthy.
Answer to Don Jose - I have eaten at your restaurant before and do like your food. The problem is all the crows that are gathering around your dumpsters, then pick up the scraps of food and fly over my house. Some of them land on my roof and peck at the food early in the morning. Is it really too much to ask that your employees keep the dumpsters closed? Please. (I too used to own a restaurant)

Feb 21 - Doesn't learn ! March 8 - a man in a red shirt (the owner?) Opened the garbage dumpsters, and dumped two cans of garbage and then walked away without closing them again. Now there are a dozen crows picking at the food scraps. WHEN WILL THIS END ?
Nov 30 2024- STILL LOTS OF CROWS FLYING OVER MY HOUSE BECAUSE OF THE OWNERS NEGLECT TO KEEP THE GARBAGE CANS CLOSED. OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T CARE AND CANNOT ENFORCE HIS EMPLOYEES THIS SIMPLE TASK TO CLOSE THE BINS. VERY DISGUSTING!!

The place is very nice but the service is very poor for a roast beef, taking 45 minutes seemed like a long time to me and the cold pico de gallo from the refrigerator to put on the meat is not good because the meat gets colder because it was served cold the price of The menu is not in line with what they charge, be careful with that.

Hi All-
My family and I just had the worst experience at Don Jose”s in Netcong and I just want to share with everyone in hopes this never happens to anyone else.
We don’t go out to eat often as we have an amazing non verbal autistic 6 year old son who only eats 3 things 🙂 and a happy almost 2 year old who eats everything 🙂 So when we DO go out we have to bring things for our autistic child to eat. We never have a problem and if questioned we explain to the waiter why we have our own chicken nuggets in a container. Well tonight was different…
We got seated in a booth and got our boys all set up. My autistic 6 year old had his iPad and his nuggets and was happy as can be! The waiter came over and before he even said hello, said “he can not eat those”. We then kindly explained that he was autistic and this is all he will eat. We will be ordering a kids meal for our 2 year old. He then said, “well, he still can’t eat them, what do you want to drink?” We said water and he walked away. At that point my husband said we are leaving.
We got up to leave and I asked to speak with the owner. He was behind the bar. I again, kindly explained our situation and voiced how disappointing it is for a restaurant to essentially turn away a paying family because one happy little special needs boy needs to eat his particular chicken nuggets. The owner said “ well he can’t eat them, sorry”
We left and will never be back. Unfortunate as we have been going there for years and for years my son has always enjoyed his own nuggets with no problems.

The food and drink are AGGRESSIVELY bland. From the salsa and guacamole to the entree and even the margarita, nothing has flavor or spice.

Worst service ever! I ordered my food for pick up they tell me it will be ready in 30 min. I arrive there and they didn’t have my food ready but expressed they were backed up. I get home and my complete order was messed up. I didn’t get what I ordered. I call them to let them know I received the wrong order and no answer. DEFINITELY will not be going back!!!

Don’t hesitate. Just go and enjoy the food!! Chips and salsa are always fresh. Food never disappoints - anything you order there are big portions and so good! And the dessert. My God! Don’t miss the Fried Chimichanga with bananas.
I’ve taken a couple people here and all they can say is that between the atmosphere and the food - it’s definitely worth the drive and coming back and bringing more people to try it. The staff are also very good and accommodating!
