Like many, I stumbled upon this place while stopping at the nearby Starbucks for a coffee, only to discover they have authentic Brooklyn Blackout Cake that could rival anything you find in the city. If you want a perfect piece of cake at Brooklyn quality without the city price. Do not hesitate to stop by. Bonus review. Crème puff is something not to miss.

So Grok 4.0 told me that there was only one bakery that was just as good as Mia's Brooklyn Bakery. I learned one important thing. Grok has no taste buds. I went here specifically for their blackout cake. 37 minutes from my home. Now on an early morning Saturday or Sunday, I can get to Mia's Brooklyn Bakery in 27 minutes. Negatives are the tolls I'd have to pay to get to Brooklyn from New Jersey. But once again, Mia's remains thee best Blackout cake I've had in the tri-state area. As for the Bakehouse. Yes the blackout cake was similar. But I would have to cut the top and back of the slice off for that to be the case. The top and side have a hard texture as if it were made with Oreo cookies. The cake it self, even though similar to Mia's has a weird after taste. It by no means give me the pure pleasure of Mia's. We also tried a white cake with sprinkles. Too much cream and too little cake. Disappointed. I feel like the cake from BJ's taste better. Three ladies were behind the counter and they were pleasant, all smiles and respectful. Great staff! 2 out of 3 of these staff members seemed to be freezing. The place was like standing in a refrigerator but that's no complaint of mine. Not in there long enough to complain about that. Once again we had a hard pass on the chocolate mousse cup. Not to the level I'm use to. Sheesh, I wanted to love the place but I'll take the shorter drive and tolls to get the best. So Mia's, I'll see you soon. Sorry Bakehouse, we won't be back. No hard feelings.

What an amazing place to get delectable treats, cakes and coffees. My favorite is the raspberry croissant and raspberry bread pudding. Runner up would be the Apple carrot muffin, so moist and yummy. If you’re looking for something special to bring to your home, a relatives, or friends house, you can’t go wrong with the Brooklyn Blackout, Sprinkle Cake (don’t let the colorful outside fool you, it’s a sophisticated cake!), or Carrot cake. And although I’m not a coffee drinker, the smell of amazing coffee always hits me when I go in, which is pretty frequently. Make Bakehouse your next stop. You won’t regret it.

We ordered two incredible cakes from Bake House by Joe Murphy for my wife’s 50th birthday party: the legendary Brooklyn Blackout Cake and the Vanilla Sprinkle Cake with Bavarian cream. Both were showstoppers. Our guests were buzzing with excitement the moment they saw them, and once they dug in, the rave reviews didn’t stop.

The ordering and pickup process was smooth and friendly, staff were fantastic throughout. We feel so lucky to have a bakery of this caliber right here in our small town. Bake House helped make a special night even sweeter!

This place is awesome. The desserts are so tasty and delicious. We love the ginger cookie, chocolate chip cookie, carrot cake, chocolate cake, and coffee cake. This is my 2nd time visiting. This is my favorite spot now. Keep up the great work.

Food and baked products are great. Staff is clueless. Was waiting in line while staff serviced folks that came after me. Staff can’t tell the order of people - no start and end. Better people and process needed

Stopping by for the first time, wanted to get a croissant but ended up getting four things. All delicious but the blackout cake was the best.
