Ordered takeout. Was surprised to see a mini portion of chicken soup for almost $4. I realize things are tough these days, but this was ridiculous. Been going there for years. If this is how things are now, it’s just not worth it.

I’m surprised this place isn’t rated a little better! I had the most amazing asada taco here and my partner loved his steak tacos! I will admit the service was verrry slow when I went even though it wasn’t busy in the front. Plus the chips and salsa aren’t very good. The chips taste stale and the salsa had big chunks of green onion in it, which I kind of liked but it wasn’t something I’d eat too much of. But the entree itself and atmosphere were both great.

Absolutely best tex-mex anywhere in the area. Very few restaurants do combination dinners anymore, but Jose's still has very reasonably priced platters, of multiple combinations, served with rice and the best beans around (in fact my SO likes to get an extra side of the beans, they're so good)! Generous portions, delicious food, friendly staff that has always been understanding and helpful.
We used to order delivery almost every other week, but unfortunately it seems like they don't take delivery orders anymore, which has left us Jose's-less for a few months now :(. We've tried other places, but quite honestly Jose's has left us spoiled and nothing else quite lives up to their quality.
I've been coming here for over 20 years. The food is delicious, and the service is great.

I rarely write reviews. Unfortunately, I won't be going back here. We went for lunch. It was way too dark inside, with very little light coming in through tiny windows and almost no lights on inside. It felt dingy. The service was extremely slow and unpleasant. I didn't have confidence in the cleanliness of the place, which made me wonder about the kitchen. The server seemed to be on a facetime phone call the entire time we were there. Food was ok but far too salty (both entrees). The tres leches cake had all kinds of frosting and extra syrup on it, which made it way too sweet. No bueno.

This place is a hidden gem in NP. Perfect, authentic, little Cantina serving up delicious food with a friendly smile. Highly recommend the Camerones Oaxaquinoes... grilled and seasoned shrimp the size of small lobsters served with rice, refried beans, guacamole, tomatoes, and lettuce. Oh, and the place is BYOB... so go pick yourself up a bottled margarita next door. You will not be disappointed! ????

The atmosphere is festive and fairly small, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in New Jersey. And it is a BYOB, so you can bring your favorite wine or beer to dine with! Enthusiastically recommended. A+++++

Interesting hole-in-the-wall with unique twists on Mexican cuisine. The liberal use of canela (cinnamon) in select dishes, such as the sautéed mushrooms and beef tacos, might overwhelm some palates. While intriguing, the rare canela infusion lingered on our taste buds longer than expected.
