This place is not as good as the original Shanghai dumpling in Edison. The fried lotus pastry tasted either old or deep fried in old oil, the crab soup dumplings were very juicy but there wasn’t any crab taste in them. The prices were really high and on my bill they overcharged me compared to the prices on their menu. Will not be returning to this location again.

These guys have redefined the scallion pancake! Loaded with strips of beef, cilantro and a light touch of a garlic/sauce, this was an absolute joy to devour. Coupled with soup dumplings, and udon noodles with spicy chicken. Great atmosphere and decent service, I definitely recommend this place.

Had a lot of food there tonight. Seafood shumai were especially good, but the truffle pork soup dumplings also had a great truffle flavor. The garlic broccoli was excellent, and the bok choi and soups were very nice. I thought the dry noodles and pork dumplings were only OK. But nothing was bad. I’d gladly go again.

I loved it ?, I think this is one of my favorites that I will have from now on. Starting with the service, I went on Thursday in the morning and although the restaurant was full, I noticed that the waitress with a pompadour made sure that everyone was okay, she is very smiling and his attitude was very pleasant, I had questions about the menu and she was able to help me, I just hope that she Help me next time, the food was very good, I wasn't sure what to order, she recommended the pork juice dumpling ? and I think I will go back for them

3.5/5 if I could but my math teachers taught me to round downThe soup dumplings weren’t as good as I hoped. Thick skin; the meat was too porky and missing the ginger essence that usually comes with these dumplings. The pleated folds were beautiful though. The peanut noodles were a+ with a little zing of vinegar. Perfect.Scallion pancakes were wonderful too and loved how the pancakes were roasted and not fried. Beef was a little dry though.Weirdest part is they don’t provide soup spoons so you gotta eat straight out of that weird dipping bowl they provide. That was a first time for me and a puzzling experience. I guess I’ve never seen it done that wayThe first water bottle I got was locked so in had to open it and press a button to unlock the spout.Great staff and service

Probably not going back, because food is luke warm, every dish I ordered is luke warm, not just one dish! Food is ok taste not great though. And this is because the food are mostly shipped from the branch at Edison, North Brunswick kitchen doesn't cook, they just microwave them, that's why food came so fast after ordering. The north brunswick kitchen is probably a massive microwave and warming station. People said the take-out orders have long wait time, well because take-out orders need to be delivered from Edison first, unless you order dumplings or something already in the kitchen from prior delivery, then you will get some warm food fast. If you notice, the workers are 99% indians, not Chinese. I don't see any Chinese cooks in the kitchen. So not going back.

I've been a patron of Wu's Shanghai Dumpling for a while now, drawn in by their absolutely delicious dumplings and the enjoyable atmosphere of the place. Each visit reassures me that they truly know their way around dumpling-making, offering a variety of flavors that are consistently delightful in taste. However, there's a significant downside to the Wu's experience, particularly when it comes to their pick-up service. Despite the fantastic food, the wait times for pick-up orders are frustratingly long. On several occasions, I've placed orders about 30 minutes in advance, only to be told upon arrival that my food isn't ready. Waiting an additional 20 minutes or more has been a common experience for just an order of two sets of dumplings . There have also been instances where my order seems to have been forgotten entirely. What baffles me the most is that this delay in service doesn't correlate with the restaurant's busyness - it's usually not that crowded. This aspect certainly detracts from the overall experience and makes me hesitant about opting for pick-up orders in the future. In conclusion, while Wu's Shanghai Dumpling scores high on the quality of food and atmosphere, their pick-up service efficiency leaves much to be desired. If you're not in a rush and don't mind the wait, the dumplings are definitely worth it. But for those on a tighter schedule, be prepared for potential delays.

The soup dumplings are excellent but a bit smaller than competitors. They also lack herbs or scallions inside. The Crispy Soft Egg 脆皮溏心蛋 was different from the menu photo. However flavor was excellent. This restaurant gives nice utensil packets with the order. It includes chopsticks, spoon, fork, toothpick and a tiny napkin.

I really love this place, because I love dumplings and more authentic style soups. I noticed however the last time I ate there that the cucumber in scallion sauce was VERY Salty, almost inedible. I do love salt but please be responsible with it my friends! lol The service is good, knowledgeable and fast, although I forgot my tea on the table (it was almost full and cost $8.50!) I walked out the door and it was throw away in 30 seconds! Like dude, come on now.. Give a person a chance to come back for their drink. Some of us get rushed out by their partners or are a little up there in age, have things on our minds.. Give us a chance to come back for our drinks or to-go bag! 10 minutes.

We decided to have just the dimsum/yum cha items.... Ordering was done by scannnig the QR and selecting the menu. The menu on the app is a bit convoluted, but ok. Ambience is modern, and busy (almost every table occupied on a Sunday at 2pm). Water is served and refilled without having to be requested. The chopstick along with napkins, spoon, a mini fork and a toothpick, comes in a colorful nifty package that I almost feel sorry I have to rip open. The order: 1) Beef Scallion Pancake - excellent layered beef slices in hoisin wrapped in a crispy filo style pancake. 2) Crab and Pork Xiao Long Bao -- delicious soup dumpling that's well wrapped, thin-skinned but doesn't break; dip it in ginger and vinegar sauce (as suggested by the instruction card) to complete the package! 3) Shrimp Dumpling (Hak Kau) - standard -- good in the provided hot sauce 4) Pan Fried Pork & Seafood Shumai -- this one is just so-so. Standard quality and not too impressive. 5) Pan Fried Pork Bun with Peanut Butter -- flavorful bun (meat inside) that's bathed in delicious peanut butter. Order arrived relatively fast -- and you can watch the cooks complete your order through the glass too! Glad that a decent quality dim sum spot is in North Brunswick for simple, but delish quick bites!
