We've been going here for about 8 years. The man behind the counter is so kind and the donuts are always fresh. The delicious Angel Crème donut is always a big hit in our house and I love the iced coffee as well!

This is the best donut shop down here. I'm in coming here for more than 20 years. Dave, such a nice guy. I recommend the chocolate angel cream.

I love this place. This is not a tourist place the locals come here. When I'm down this is where I go. Prices are great and the coffee is better than Dunkin' Donuts down the road. The donuts are great. My go to is bagel with cream cheese and a coffee. I don't know why people waste their money and go to a chain like Dunkin or Starbucks instead of support a local spot. The one problem is that its hard to find. It looks closed but it is open. There's a drive thru window but you also can walk in. It's hard to find because Google has the wrong address - says 3718 bayshore, but it's further down. Try 3850 bayshore drive and you'll see it on the corner.

On Saturday morning, I predictably woke up about half an hour before anyone else in my crew and decided to venture outside to locate, at the bare minimum, caffeine for the day ahead. The sky looked very Twister-like (and I think we ended up getting a tornado warning later so that's not me being randomly dramatic with the pop culture references) but this is what we do for chums at 7am. After walking to a busy street with a lot of commercial businesses, I stumbled across Donut Connection and wandered in. Most of our weekend was spent at unapologetic tourist traps, but this is absolutely not that. There were two or three gentlemen in there when I arrived, and they were clearly locals who have been frequenting this place for ages; it's very small town diner in that regard. They were having a comfortable conversation with the proprietor about Shohei Ohtani (the consensus was that he's going to end up a Dodger - you heard it here first). I LOVED the guy behind the counter. Super nice fellow, and even though I wasn't wearing a fanny pack or a camera around my neck, apparently it was pretty clear I wasn't from the neighborhood. Initially I asked for their to-go coffee container, which prompted a furrowed brow and a question about how many people would be utilizing said container. When he found out it was four people, he shook his head and refused to sell it to me. "No...way too much coffee. You're better off with just four regular coffees." Twist my arm. I was probably in there an extra three or four minutes due to his insistence on packing the cups up with tons of extras (sugars, etc.), as well as tape on the top so that they didn't end up being iced coffees in the tornado weather. But I love that this guy went above and beyond and didn't try to knee-jerk upsell me on anything. Classy. There was no way morally I could have walked out of there without donuts (always get the item reflected in the business name), so after ensuring that my donut chum Chocolate Frosted was going to be part of the haul, I let the guy pick the others. In hindsight, maybe I should have taken more control over that process since most of the donuts ended up being stuffed with something but since I don't like stuff in my stuff, it limited temptation issues and that's never a bad thing during a debauchery weekend. The donuts were pretty well received upon my return; a few lasted until the next morning, but I think that was more a product of people not being famished rather than mediocre pastries. One chum was mildly riled up about the existence of frosting (I guess rather than cream?) in one of the donuts, but I avoid any filling drama with my preferred donut; no skin in that game. From my perspective, the donut I had was pretty tasty; it reminded me of when the NYC donut carts actually had a decent product instead of the weird crusty congealed mess they all seem to be hawking now. At their peak, I thought their donuts were cheaper, larger and better than Dunkin; is this head and heels better than the most mainstream/popular option in all the lands? Probably not, but it's certainly competitive at least, and the customer service certainly trumps the chain. The price point was more than fair; six donuts and four coffees ended up being about $20, which would make all of my North Jersey compatriots howl in disbelief (I think for the quantity it would honestly be close to $30 up there). Worth a stop if you're in the area, especially if you're trying to support local business. And be prepared with some baseball intel.

Looks closed from out side, but it open. Morning hours only. Gentlemen behind counter is very friendly and giving. I have only gotten donuts and I can say they are fresh and tasty. The French crueller are the best I've ever had .

No mask, no gloves. Absolutely disgusting. Who knows what other poor hygiene habits they have.
