This isn't a place for catering. They were low on staff this evening. Wish it didn't take two hours for something custom for me. Salmon and carrots isn't a hard dish to do. It is a beautiful place. Just needs a better and responsible staff.

My husband and I recently had a large party (close to 80 people) in Leggios' upstairs dining room. That said, our review covers the party, and not the casual dining experience. First, the room is beautiful, with a bar and ample space for seated guests. Additionally, the staff is attentive and friendly. Nina, specifically, was a pleasure to do business with. Our guests also had positive things to say about most of the food; the chicken francaise is perfect! That said, there are some negatives to be aware of if you want to schedule a big event. First, and most importantly, the upstairs room gets hot when you combine a warm day with lots of guests and multiple Sternos keeping food warm. Everyone was noticeably sweating despite the AC being on full blast, as we were told. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere that lasted three hours. Some guests had to go downstairs to cool off. Second, the staff encountered some challenges with the food; I chose the buffet option. They quickly ran out of calamari, bread was brought out haphazardly, and chicken fingers (for the children) were served after the kids had eaten; at one point, we had several guests waiting for food because almost all of the trays were empty. Finally, and this is a minor detail that is easily corrected, when food was ready everyone was called up at once, and the result was a long line that snaked through the room and left people waiting on line while trays were replenished. If you have a large party here, we suggest calling up tables individually to speed things along. Ultimately, and for the price that we paid, the restaurant should not have run out of food. My husband and I would return for dinner, but considering we both have large families, we will not consider Leggios for a party option.

Weird experience, couldn't tell you if it was the food was good a guest at the table next to ours found a cockroach in their meal. After that I just wanted to cancel my order and they told me they already started cooking my meal and immediately asked me for a credit card. Needless to say I wasn't giving them my card. They were really pushy about it. Wouldn't recommend anyone go there.

We came for Mother's Day... Sat down at 12:15pm. Didn't get food until 1:45pm. We asked for the check and it took 20 minutes and 3 people to complete the task. Mind you. There were only 4 other tables filled besides us (All waiting just as long or longer). We were served before another family who was there thirty minutes before us... Families were complaining, getting up and leaving. The food... was nothing special. I would equate it to Diner food. Overcooked and undercooked pasta. Everyone at my table was served except for one and he got his meal 20 minutes later... My other brother didn't recieve his entire meal. Not sure how this place has good ratings... Worst restaurant I have been to in awhile. Very unfortunate, because it is a very beautiful restaurant. Also there are only about 10 parking spaces...

SLOW. (But nice) me and my party of 2 was served an hour after we ordered. There where only 2 other people in the restaurant at the time, they forgot to give us our salads (they offered us cake and coffee to make up for it) the cake was dry although it was homemade The ratio of veal to veggies in a VEAL DISH was tiny. Although the pasta was cooked perfect. Servers where nice. The only redeming quality is the owner coming out of the back with his ny accent and his slicked back hair with his great personality. Support local guys.

Went here on a Saturday night. I was aprehensive because of what I read online but gave it a go anyway. I called at 8 to see if there was seating available and there was so we went over. I was ready to give it a shot so we went in. Way too many mishaps for me. My bottle of wine disappeared for 25 minutes while she was trying to open it. The exact menu item I picked out was not available to make and was told this way after I ordered. The salads came with different things on them than on the menu. I could go on and on but this night was a disaster for us. Maybe an off night for them but I wont risk it again. The extra star is for the waitress effort.

My husband threw me a 70th surprise birthday party at Leggios restaurant. It was the best. Everything was perfect. From the food to the decor to the wonderful expertise of Joe owner and chef was beyond measure. A true gem in our little town.

Had been driving by this place meaning to give it a try. Clean and open ambiance. My wife ordered the iceberg wedge salad and I the zuppa de mussels. To be honest it was a bit on the spicy side for my taste but it was excellent none the less. Main course I had the veal scaloppini cordon bleu and my wife the eggplant parmigiana. Again excellent food and the portions were large enough to have some to take home. Being a slow time we got to meet and talk to Chef Joseph. He confessed he went a little overboard on the mussels and may have put too much oregano into the mix. He did say that next time just indicate less spiciness which I intend to do on our next visit. Nice local business with fine service and excellent food. Highly recommend you give it a try.

Great BYOB restaurant. Food was delicious and the portions were very generous so much so I was too full for dessert :) Service was attentive and well versed on selections. Highly recommend.

I was excited to try someplace new and scanned some online reviews before I went with another couple a few weeks ago. The reviews were all pretty good. I was disappointed that the pasta with shellfish that I ordered was filled with sand. The owner immediately came over as I took the first bite and he took it back in the kitchen and said he'd make a new dish. When he returned, it didn't have any sand, but it also didn't have any flavor anymore. The 1st time it came out it was perfectly plated, the 2nd time it was just thrown on the dish. He obviously ran it under water and rinsed everything off. That was enough for me. We won't be back.

One star is being kind. We visited Leggios in an effort to support local, new businesses. We are sorry we did. Service was lacking, the waiter did not know the menu or specials. At one point we were forgotten. As far as food, the calamari was pedestrian. The mozzarella en carroza was basically pricy diner mozzarella sticks. It tasted as if the oil in the fryer was old. Two of us received our dishes ten minutes before the other half of the table. Veal Milanese was heavily breaded and fried mystery meat..just tasted of breading and oil. My husband's shrimp scampi was six shrimp in a bowl of scampi sauce. No pasta. No veggies. No bread. The owner was unapologetic and clueless as to what was going on in his kitchen. I couldn't convince the people I was with to give it a second try after that experience and wouldn't even try. UPDATE: After posting a nasty and condescending comment to me and my response the owner thought better and edited his response to what is now posted. While the responses was edited, there is no excuse for belittling a customer. 1. We did NOT sit on your restaurant the evening you stated. We were there in November. 2. I did not ask a busser for specials, it was your server. I do know the difference after spending the better part of my life in (not chain) restaurants. 3. Your experienced maitre d did in fact visit our table, five minutes into two missing entrees and asked " is anything wrong here?" 4. You visited our table, introduced yourself, and when we mentioned the timing issue you responded "I'll have to see what happened." 5. There were no children in our party, but rather four adults. 6. It is truly bad form as a business owner to chastise a patron and make excuses for poor service. My review was kind considering the experience we had. If we had even considered giving Leggios a second try, after the response from the owner, which was inaccurate and belittling, you can be sure we will not. I'll also be sure to let our friends and neighbors know they should take their business elsewhere.

A friend and I stopped in here spontaneously last night after spotting them from the street. I loved how beautiful they looked from the outside, and the inside did not disappoint. They seated us promptly in the dining room which reminded me of a quaint, piano bar. The servers were attentive, polite, and knowledgeable. We shared the salmon special (stuffed with seafood) and the cappelinni mammafemina, and both were delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly and just beautiful. We got to chat with the owner who was gracious and curious to know if our meals had lived up to our expectations. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would love to go back another day! We had planned to check out the upstairs, just to take a peek, but forgot to before we left. Hopefully, we'll get to see it next time. Also, they are byob, who can beat that!

We had a delicious dinner here last night. Our food was just as expected, perfectly prepared!! The staff was warm and welcoming and very attentive. I had a fettuccine Special with mushrooms and shrimp. We all enjoyed and will be back - thanks Leggios!

Our first visit to Leggio's won't be our last. Before coming here, you should understand this is NOT a Jersey storefront/pizzeria. It's an attractive restaurant with a wonderful and varied Italian menu. We shared an appetizer of four large stuffed mushrooms in a tasty sauce. Entrees were Shrimp Scampi and Veal Scallopini Piccata, both excellent. From dessert we shared a chocolate cappuccino cake which was perfect. Not too sweet. The menu is a la carte with most entrees priced at $28-$34 so expect to spend at least $80, plus tip. We thought prices were appropriate for the restaurant. We ate on the ground level dining room because a private party was being held in the main (upstairs) dining room. Though a bit noisy, we were happy and look forward to trying the upstairs room. Very happy to recommend Leggio's. Make a reservation.
