The boat was clean and well-maintained and with the advice of the staff there, we ended up with more crabs than we could eat. The staff were kind, informative, accomodating and treated us like family. There were some issues with mother nature and the staff went FAR BEYOND normal expectations to ensure our safety and comfort. Having been sooooo impressed with their extraordinary customer service, I asked about the cafe. I understand the food to be "phenomenal" (it was packed for dinner). Can't wait to try it. :-)

Never rent a boat from this marina!!! I would give it a 0 star if I could. The boats are in terrible conditions, the seats were ripped, the boat was dirty there was trash in all the seats which shows that it's not cleaned in between rentals and most importantly there were no doors on the boats. I planned a day with my family and two small children to crab on this boat and was super concerned because there were no doors. They tried to accommodate us by giving us a bigger which also was missing a door. They tried to make up for it by making a door with a rope. How is this safe if a small child can fall right through a rope?? We were delayed to leave the dock because of the lack of door and their attempt to make one which delayed our return. They then in turn charged my credit card an additional $100 for the late return. This marina less than accommodating and the boats were in terrible condition!

Canceled NIGHT before on me saying it was too windy. Kids very disappointed. Every boat rental was open on the island but them. No white caps in back bay. No one even bothered to answer phones. Thank goodness Dads Place pulled through with a little boat so kids weren’t disappointed.

Staff was really friendly and they tried to make your experience great. We had problems with our pontoon rental while on the water and the staff was there within 5 minutes to correct the issues we had. Had a great time crabbing the remainder of our day and they were very accomadating with concerns to refunding us due to the issues. We will definitely be back on future trips.

Just came back from THE most relaxing day on the water!! The staff here were AMAZING, friendly & more than helpful!! From the 2 young girls who checked us in to Paul who helped with the boat and Fra, who came to rescue us when we got stuck!!?Thank you South Dock!!!
We had a great day out on the bay fishing and crabbing. Our experience with South Dock deck hands was nothing but professional! Very knowledgeable. Our boat would not start once we were out on the bay. The deck hands Came out and got the boat running for us. We went to lunch and Their boat guy came and switched out the boat to a new one for us! The maps they provided helped us to navigate our way in the bay. Highly recommend South Dock!!

The 20ft pontoon for the day was perfect . Good crabbing areas . You will have a fun time. Dock hands are great.

Called a week in advance and spoke with Jen. She was kind, helpful and answered all our questions about boat, size, kids and crabbing equipment. She reserved us a 20' pontoon boat for the afternoon excursion. Once we got there it was exactly what she promised and clean. We had 4 adults and 3 kids with plenty of room on the boat to move about. The boat guy from Tennessee, "Penyton Manning", was terrific with his explanation of the boat, locations to fish and crab. We read a lot of bad reviews beforehand and don't believe everything that you read. If you know how to drive a boat or not just be smart, take your time and know the tides. We caught a shark and 45 crabs in 4 hours. WE WILL BE BACK FOR SURE 100% GREAT day for people of all ages. Thanks Jen

The pontoon boat we rented was in HORRIBLE condition. The seats and carpet were falling apart. There was mold and dirt on the seats as well. We were not informed that we could not bring floats or swim which should have been mentioned when we booked the boat. Do not recommend.

The staff was ok, but we rented a pontoon boat and we weren’t allowed to go swimming at all and not allowed to bring any floats. There was no ladder either. Plus, the boats were dirty and broken. There was mold all over the place and and visibly dirt everywhere. The seats were cracking and and the carpet was pealing. The engine was slow, the fuel gage is broken, the radio doesn’t work, and the buttons don’t do anything. There’s sharp metal along the edge and open wires. The doors don’t close and the lack of information was annoying. In conclusion, this place sucks. Never renting from here again.
