Paella was a stew like with no taste. Drinks were mediocre. Not much to praise about from other members of the party.

We recently had our wedding and reception at Segovia and are beyond pleased with the results. The staff accommodated our every need; Angela and Matt, who helped us with the booking and menu, were pleasant and professional always. All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was, and the upstairs private room was perfect for our party of 30 people. Particularly deserving of praise is Steve, who went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy and that our special day went as smoothly as possible.

Amazing Graduation Celebration at Segovia in Oakland!

We had my wife’s graduation party upstairs at Segovia in Oakland this past Saturday, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The venue itself was perfect, and the atmosphere made the evening incredibly special for our family and friends.

Segovia Tavern exceeded our expectations with their outstanding food — everyone raved about it! The staff was exceptional from start to finish. A special shoutout to Matt, who handled everything seamlessly and made the entire planning process so easy for us. His professionalism and attentiveness truly made a difference.

Additionally, Steve was fantastic throughout the event, ensuring that all our needs were met and that everything ran smoothly. Both Matt and Steve went above and beyond to accommodate us and made sure our night was comfortable and memorable.

We are very grateful to the entire team at Segovia for their kindness, professionalism, and excellent service. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this milestone celebration so special!

I’m really not one to write reviews but this place is totally not worth the price. What looks like a refurbished diner is exactly that. Ordered a chicken dish. Took 25 minutes to come out. Oversized portion. Enough for an entire family. As it they’re trying to offload their stock. It was absolutely DROWNING in sauce. More like soup with chicken in it. Rice comes on a separate plate with chips. No spice. No flavor. Any of it. You would be better bringing your own spices with you. The woman behind the bar was even talking about another restaurant and how incredible their food is when yours is well below mediocre. This might make for a good meal if you’re traveling etc.. but a night out? Go anywhere else. Blehh. And for $37! Forget it. I can find better street meat in nyc. Would love to see some celeb chef tear this place to pieces.

Service-wise, a big step down from the waitstaff in the restaurants in the Meadowlands. Too informal, poor attention to detail, silverware taken away and not replaced, etc. As an ex-waitstaffer, I was aware of lack of professional training. Food was flavorful but man o man the house salad was substandard iceberg lettuce drowned in vinegar.

Eight of us went for my son's birthday. I was told the paella was for 1 or 2 people. Three of us ordered it, and it was huge. Sadly, I did not enjoy mine. I did not like the chorizo, the seafood was rubbery and chicken dry so I didn't eat any of it. My sons dug into theirs and found sand. My pasta fagiole soup was taseless. The bread was delicious. The service was good too. It was clean with a nice atmosphere. I recommend the bacon appetizer!

The service was slow at first. But when our waiter Alvin arrived, everything then went smoothly. He is so personable and friendly. My mother had the mariscos in rojo sauce and I had the mariscos in verde sauce. Great portions and dishes were sublime! My husband had the pork chops that were fork tender. Great bread and salads too. All dishes come with rice, potato chips and soup or salad. I’m going back for the sauces of the entrees! All were incredible. Going there for lunch is a great bargain.
