UPDATE: Return visi, bought a cheese puff, much better pastry, light on the cheese but a much tastier and flaky pastry. The “croissants” are not, the only edible part was the chocolate center, the cakey surround was dense, floury and flavorless. Where’s the buttery flakey traditional croissant? The jelly donuts were filled to the brim & in fact, overflowed onto my plate. I could have used the excess for a PBJ sandwich. Sorry to say I won’t be buying either next time but hope to have better luck perhaps with bread or cookies..

This bakery was recommended to me by some random person I met while enjoying a beverage at a local establishment. So I went out of my way to sample a couple of my favorite bakery items. Chocolate filled croissants and cream puff. The cream puff felt nicely filled with cream as I picked it up. The pastry seemed fresh to the bite. That’s the end of the good. The pastry was filled with what I would consider vanilla pudding. Oh by the way it was abundantly filled! Taste was horrible. Pastry seemed fresh but the flavor was not fresh tasting. The cream tasted like canned filling. After one bite in tossed the remainder in the trash. On to the chocolate croissant. I have traveled the world and know what a proper chocolate filled croissant is supposed to taste like. The pastry was flat in the display case. There was zero flake to the pastry. Just squishy soft and under cooked dough. The chocolate had a weird taste and did not even have a proper chocolate flavor. Just abundantly sugar taste. I tossed that one out too. It left me with a terrible after taste. I won’t be going back there again. Oh and while I was there, it seemed to have an endless flow of customers coming & going. Maybe it’s the excellent location on Route 9 or maybe those folks actually like that the bakery.

We ordered a cake for my sister’s birthday and Liz made an exact replica of our inspo picture! Not only was the cake beautiful and exactly what we wanted, it also tasted amazing. People at the party were asking where the cake was from because it was so good!! You can see the attached photos the inspiration cake compared to the one Liz made for us

When I say these are the best donuts in NJ, I don't take that lightly. These are the best donuts I may have ever had - all homemade along with their crumb cakes of many varieties. The staff is not only efficient, but is kind and welcoming to us non-regular customers as well. We might have found our new go-to when traveling to South Jersey. Worth every second of a detour off the Parkway for this gem.
The best donuts, but sell out by 10-10:30. And cheap .. only $1.25. Italian cookies are so delicious,too! However, slightly overpriced for this area.
