We have been going to El Cid for over 30 years and went back for the first time since they reopened. I’m happy to say that it was as great as it was in the past. The Prime Rib, sirloin and sangria were delicious and we can’t wait to go back!

Food is mixed quality paella is just warmed up rice with some precooked seafood stirred in. Boring. Petit filet with lobster tail was very good and a great value. Atmosphere is busy and noisy beyond comfortable. Service staff is professional and attentive. Personally I have no need to return.

I don't know what the craze is. It's certainly not like it used to be 15 or 20 years ago where you could get good food at an outstanding value price in a somewhat classy atmosphere.

New owners ..heard good things. Wasn’t impressed. Food was decent but very slow getting food out. Serviice wasn’t good had to ask for water and many other things multiple times. Will definitely not be going back!

In comparison to the El Cid with prior owners, the food quality has dropped immensely. So disappointed as this was a staple for us.

If you’re going to take over a Spanish restaurant, you better know what you’re doing. El Cid was closed for a while, then reopened by the owners of a local Italian restaurant. Prices are quite high for what you get (or don’t get, mainly being quality). The formerly wonderful potato chips, were barely hot, and therefore, not as crisp as they could be. Bread is more of an Italian style as opposed to the softer Spanish bread. Main dishes were “ok”, nothing bad, but nothing to rave about. Menu is very scaled down. One fish dinner had to be sent back since the interior was raw. As in other reviews, lobster is over cooked. Mariscada in green sauce, was ok, but definitely not in a green sauce, more like a garlic sauce. Just because you throw in a few peas, does NOT make it a green sauce. (photo attached) Chicken and shrimp in a Marsala sauce was more Italian than Spanish. The dish was swimming in a pool of oil. Most of the dishes were very salty as well. Lots of other “just misses”. Two plates of half rice and half vegetables was also a miss. Rice was just past fluffy, on its way to bring overcooked. Veggies were soggy and rubbery….tasted like they were held over from another day. Two of these plates were not enough for a table of 8 patrons. A beautiful steak was ordered, but looked lost on the plate with not a thing accompanying it. Not a floret of broccoli, a scoop of veggies, not even a sprig of parsley….nothing. Most sides are on the menu for you to add to your order. Multiple Cappuccinos were uneven and of varying amounts of foam to coffee ratio, unfortunately for me, mine had 1” of coffee, all the rest was foam. Desserts were good. Sangria not up to par either. Lots of room for improvement…..and I hope they do! Large self-park lot.

My wife and I heard the restaurant had reopened. We had gone there for years. And enjoyed the food atmosphere and service. However, the new El sids was a major disappointment. The food was not up to par. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Ps

El Cid used to be a wonderful family reustarant right now I m not sure about it .since new manager in place ,menu is very limited .service very delayed. My husband has to go to the bar himself to get a beer. Napkins on the floor after tables are been all set up for new customers and services. Food portion still very large so is good. And taste was also good. One thing I have to say that as soon as manager finds out about it. He did all on his power to correct the error.
