We've been coming to the Tom Sawyer Diner for the last 3 years and each time, enjoyed an excellent experience. I can't name a better diner anywhere in NJ.
I don't understand why long-time customers will write negative reviews rather than speak with the management when there's a problem. The management has a GREAT ATTITUDE and will always try to make things right. People just love to complain.

Waiter seated us and gave us special menu items with pictures. I was with my father so it was easier for him to understand as he doesn't speak English fluently. Very friendly service as well and gave us recommendations which we ended up ordering thanks to him. We had a steak dish 'The Brazilian' and it was very delicious. I feel that this is a hidden gem and would come back again!

Wonderful diner with a comprehensive menu. Right next to Valley Hospital and Medical Arts buildings. Worth a stop before or after your doctor's visit or stop by and take something to go either home or visiting a loved one at the hospital. Food is excellent as well as the service. EXTREMELY CLEAN. Prices are on the high side, but quality is there.

A modern day warrior...mean, mean pride
Traveling from Carolinas to NY, had to stop to feed kids. Food was okay. No complaints. The reason I'm leaving a review was because of the poor manners of the staff. The lady who brought over the high chair literally couldn't wait 20 seconds for my older daughter and husband to get into the booth first. She was impatient and crams the high chair in between us shoving it on top of my husband's foot. Then she's like does ur boy/girl need a drink. First of all she's wearing pink with flowers, have some common sense! Second, if ur not sure just say baby. My husband asked if they have fresh brewed iced tea, server says yes. It is definitely 100% Syrup ice tea from the fountain.
