I don't usually write reviews, but sometimes, an experience is just so disappointing that I feel compelled to share it with others. This is one of those times. I used to be a regular at Bagel 1 for years, bringing my entire work crew for breakfast at least four days a week. We would typically spend around $60 on breakfast sandwiches, but over time, the prices kept creeping up until we were shelling out nearly $100. I wouldn't mind the higher cost if the food quality had remained the same, but unfortunately, it has taken a nosedive.
The deli meat they use now is cheap, slimy, and old, and the bagels aren't baked fresh anymore. They seem to come from either ShopRite or a bread company, and the difference is stark. It's like eating a doughy roll, and not a good one at that. The food is downright disgusting. The place itself is incredibly dirty, with walls that look like they haven't been painted in 20 years and filthy floors. I even noticed little black flies buzzing around the bagel bins, which was totally gross. When I mentioned this to the staff, they were less than friendly. I miss the old crew that used to work there—the Spanish guy who cooked and the outgoing blonde girl, Ann, who worked the counter. They made the place so much better and worth going there for.
You never see the owners there anymore. The old owners were always present, making sure everything ran smoothly, but now, it's all gone downhill. I drive past Bagel 1 every morning, and the parking lot is always empty. I honestly don't know how they're still in business.
If you're looking for a good place for breakfast or lunch, there's a new bagel spot down the street called Lucky 7, right by Dunkin' Donuts. That place is pristine—everything is new and clean. The deli cases are immaculate, filled with Boar's Head meats, and the cream cheeses look edible, unlike those at Bagel 1. The menu is huge, and the best part is that the old Spanish cook, Roberto, is now working there. All they're missing is Ann!

Not sure why all the negative reviews although maybe I was just lucky. Ordered 4 bagels with pork roll egg and cheese and 2 with cream cheese. Bagels were large and fresh. Plenty of pork roll and cheese.Delicious!! Order was correctly prepared. Cook and counter gentleman was nice. No lady at counter as in some reviews. Ordered ahead and food was ready when I arrived. No complaints here. Enjoyable breakfast.

Extra long black hair in my bacon and egg. They are uneducated in the products they use in their food and cannot tell you what they put in their bagels. Ginger at the counter is also unsanitary sneezed and then pack someone’s bagel up.

It came in and ordered two French toast, bagels with butter there was absolutely no butter on it and it tasted like jalapeño peppers me or my grandson could eat. It also ordered an egg everything with cream cheese and there was nothing on it but yet they charge you extra. It’s ridiculous. I’ve been here so many times. I never had an issue until now. I will not be going back there

Just yesterday morning I picked up a dozen bagels from here. Strangely, they were more like ShopRite type generic bagels. I been coming to this place for years. Hopefully, next time they have better bagels.

Man at the register/ possible owner was super rude. Rushed me to order because he said he had something to do. If I wasn’t so hungry I would’ve left right away. The young man who made my breakfast sandwiches was super nice. But I definitely won’t be coming back.
Should have read the reviews before coming here . And when I did walk in and look around I should have walked out. Nobody takes pride in what they do anymore period .

The store itself has an unclean smell that is hard to ignore. I ordered a toasted egg bagel and a breakfast platter with bacon. The egg bagel was rock hard. You could literally knock on it. The eggs in the breakfast platter were undercooked and runny, the home fries were undercooked and hard, the bread was soggy and the bacon was forgotten.

Just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse I walked into the bagel place last month and heard they let go of all the local good help that worked there for yrs . The place really went downhill lwithin ast yr when the new owners took over but at least they had good employees that made the place worth going to. They made that place and knew how to run it right. Little by little they started hiring people that were rude, unprofessional, dirty , and most of all didn’t even know how to make a good a sandwich. Last weekend I made the biggest mistake ever by going in there to place an order for myself and the family. They now have an employee that can’t speak a lick of English with no teeth and utterly disgusting. As I was trying to place an order he was spitting at me and drooling due to having no teeth. My stomach turned and I became nauseous. To make things ten times worse he was actually making the food. All I could pic was his saliva all over or food. Make no mistake when I tell you how awful this place is. I actually had to tell him to cancel my order due to not having any cash on me and quickly departed the store. I can not recommend this place even if it weren’t for the last bagel place on earth. These owners will just hire anything or anyone to work there. It’s so sad how they let this place go down in the dumps. I miss how it used to be. Please when I tell you stay far far away from bagel 1. You’ll leave there having meningitis or something worse.

This morning I bought a bacon egg and cheese, and the bacon was not cooked but it was burned. Also I order a pork egg and cheese and also the pork was not cooked but it was burned. How is possible that they have 2 people that don't eat pork no how cook it? This is not the first time this has happened. What happened to the Latinos that were working there!!! I will never recommend this place to anyone

Loved this place...friendly staff. It seems like it's under new management. I used to go there once a month or so but when i went last time, I found out it's under new management. They have done a great job with customer service. They mentioned to me that they are also offering promotions and specials for non profit organizations.
