Il Monello is our family's favorite Italian restaurant and tonight's birthday dinner did not disappoint. Martino, the owner, makes every occasion seem special with his attention, humor and recommendations. A sampling of spedini, calamari, burratta and meatballs were wonderful appetizers, and we all enjoyed the range of terrific pasta dishes. The ravioli (burratta and porcini versions) and fettuccini were huge portions. The gnocchi is always amazing and tonight my wife also got the "pocket purse pasta." It's not on the menu and Martino only makes it for his "special" guests who know to ask for it. Lucky us.
The service is friendly and attentive, and we always feel welcome and well-fed every time we visit Il Monello. Don't miss it.

Food was pretty good. Nice outdoor dining in charming town. Large portions. Salmon, meatballs, and cannolis excellent. However the panchetta over whelmed the vodka sause. Cold plates. Extremely slow service. 20 minutes before getting a server. 3 hrs to dine. Very poor english from waiters. Tables too small for 4 people. No prices on limited wine list. No prices on specials. Messy area around door and inside lobby.

This is my favorite restaurant! The food is amazing, the service is incredible. The staff is personable and attentive. The atmosphere gives the old school New York Italian restaurant vibe that is hard to find out here in the country. Perfect for special occasions or just a quiet date night.
I took my parents to Il Monello last night and it was fantastic! The staff is extremely attentive and the food was unbelievably delicious!! Everything was so fresh and would highly recommend this restaurant!!

Diner beware! Food was costly and not fresh tasting (like it was prepared several days ago and re-heated), salad greens were past prime, red wine by the glass was a mystery (no menu, no brand name, $$) and ice cold (35-40°). We kindly suggested that red wine be served more room temp and the boss was rude, arrogant and made excuses about the high cost to run the restaurant!
