Very rude, difficult to find and not worth the drive. Go to the real Il Monello in NYC. That one is amazing and will treat you with respect.

We came here a few days ago for my grandmother's birthday! We made a reservation for 9, and had a lovely table set up right as we arrived. It's BYOB, and they served us our champagne alongside some lovely complimentary bread, cheese, salami, and spicy eggplant dip--all delicious, especially the eggplant! The standout dishes were the Ossobuco (ordered by the birthday girl herselfđŸ„ł) and all the fish dishes. We tried the turbo, the salmon, and the tuna, and all were hits! The pasta was delicious, too, although I had to get takeout as it was so much food! We also tried sides of spinach, broccoli rabe, and artichoke--loved the artichoke in particular. We were served a lovely dessert and drinks course, including a chocolate lava cake that came with a birthday candle and a beautiful performance of Happy birthday from the owner and his nephew! They also treated us to a course of limoncello, sambuca, and grappa, and a lot of fun conversation! We were treated like family and felt welcomed at every part of the meal. Thanks so much for having us, and treating my grandmother like the queen she is!

We had our dad's celebration of life here and it was so special. They were so accommodating and the service and food were great. It was a true celebration and I cant thank the staff there enough for making our vision to celebrate our dad come to fruition.

OMG what a treasure this place is . The place is absolutely amazing. The short rib meatballs were incredible. The crab and lobster raviolis were a must for us to get . We got the Osso Bucco and it was falling off the bone and they are also great at any fish dish Very reasonable prices and generous potions

Food was good but tip charge was 50% of total bill. I couldn’t understand what they charge so much for tip. I wouldn’t go back to the restaurant again

we always have an amazing experience. The food, and service are always outstanding. If you request something that is not on the menu they will always try to accommodate you. They are also very attentive to you and your needs. Highly recommend

Best tasting Italian restaurant I've had since moving to NJ. Food and service were phenomenal. My girlfriend and I got the carciofini montenegro artichoke appetizer and it had an incredible blend of flavor and texture. The entrees were the same where I got the veal chop (huge portion and perfectly made red sauce) and my girlfriend got rigatoni bolognese (savory, very flavorful). For desert we got the crÚme brûlée cheesecake which was 10x fresher, natural and more tasty than Cheesecake Factory. Marino who is the chef took our order and knows how to run a good business. Overall great service by everyone who works there and the place was romantic and cozy for a nice date.

The food is always amazing. Even better than the food is the service. While they have a small staff, Martino and his team are always on top of things and provide amazingly attentive service. We've been there four times now and recommend it to everyone.

Dined at Il Monello in Peapack NJ on Christmas Eve. Made resv thru Open Table & also talked to restaurant a few days before as they called to ask our party of 4 to come 30 min earlier (6 vs 630). Our meals were good quality and quantity - meatballs, rice balls & burrata apps and osso buco, ravioli & chicken for entrees. Desserts were average. While food rated 4/5, overall restaurant rating of 2/5 as there were several disappointing aspects. First, neither website nor restaurant staff mentioned special menu - but when we arrived we were given 3 course $100 fixed price menu (tax/tip extra). What was especially irritating was the owner insisted menu was on the website for a month (it was neither on website or FB page) - do not call your customer a liar! That price likely reflected holiday markup and the meal was not worth $100 (maybe $75). Owner then disappeared for 20 min, making us wait to place our orders, and service was rather slow throughout. Except for delivering the check - which was done while we were still eating our entree. Lastly, after we finished entrees, dessert was quickly served without any offer for coffee, tea, etc. The restaurant chose to be open on a most significant holiday and should have taken every opportunity to make it a special occasion for their patrons. While our party had an enjoyable evening together, the restaurant made it memorable but for the wrong reasons. (I should note the exact same experience - no prior notice of a fixed 3 course menu - was noted in previous diner reviews which is why I repeatedly checked restaurant website to confirm. Lesson learned - believe the reviews.)

Service and food were great. Got there early and we were well taken cared for. I've seen some negative reviews and not sure what these people are talking about - seems to be a one off in my opinion. Highly recommend the place and you should try it out.

This has become our favorite Italian restaurant! The food is outstanding, but it’s the warm service that truly differentiates it from some of the other great Italian restaurants in NJ. We recently brought friends who were visiting from out of town, and they were blown away.
