I made a reservation through Fine Hotels and Resorts. I messaged the hotel to ask a question and never heard back. I then sent a message through their website asking how to contact the concierge and never heard back and then sent an email to the restaurant on site to confirm a reservation and again, never heard back. I refuse to spend $1300/night at a “five star” hotel that doesn’t know or care the least about customer service. I cancelled my reservation and am going elsewhere.
One of the best Hotels & Spas I have ever experienced. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay incredible. The food is over the top. Can’t wait to go back!
We’ve stayed at many luxury hotels, but this property stands out as something truly special. Tucked away in Somerset, NJ—a place we didn’t even realize was just 40 minutes from our home in North Jersey—this hotel offers a world-class experience without the need for a long trip.
From the moment we arrived, the service set the tone. Every detail was seamlessly handled: valet link provided in advance, immediate concierge and bellhop assistance, no waiting at check-in, and a flawless, impeccably maintained property. They even offered an Escalade shuttle to the restaurant so I wouldn’t have to walk in heels—just one example of how thoughtful and guest-centered everything is.
What makes this place ideal is that you never need to leave the property. Whether it’s a quiet retreat for couples or a family-friendly stay, the balance is perfect. Even with many families around, the atmosphere remained serene, and our adult weekend was never disturbed.
The staff made our stay unforgettable. Aiden welcomed us warmly and kept us entertained while our room was prepared. Michele was gracious with our luggage, and Chris went above and beyond—hauling our suitcase to the pool in the heat when our plans shifted from e-biking (my wife couldn’t quite reach the pedals!) to relaxing by the water. At the pool, Paige kept us refreshed with her bright, cheerful energy, making us feel truly spoiled.
Dining was equally memorable. At 90 Acres, our server Corey elevated dinner with thoughtful touches, including a surprise dessert packaged to-go when she noticed how full we were. In the Tavern, Rudy made us feel like old friends, mixing cocktails with care and conversation that made the night.
Every single staff member made us feel valued and cared for, which is rare even in luxury hotels. This property is more than just beautiful—it’s an experience that lingers long after you leave. In fact, it was the first trip where we didn’t take a single photo—we were so present and immersed in the moment that reaching for our phones never even crossed our minds.
For anyone who works a lot and doesn’t have time for a long trip, this is the perfect weekend getaway. We can’t wait to return.
Avoid at All Costs – Mismanaged, Overpriced, and Deeply Disappointing
This place has become an overpriced disgrace to the area. What was once a beautiful park has been ruined by a typical NJ-style development, complete with unattractive residences and a poorly designed new club.
From the manager down, the staff is shockingly unprofessional and unqualified. The menu is small, uninspired, and boring. Event planning is a complete nightmare — the team is unresponsive, disorganized, and seemingly incapable of handling even basic tasks like answering phones, processing payments, or calculating totals accurately.
To make matters worse, they failed to cash a check we sent, then claimed they “discovered” a balance a month later and sent it to collections. That’s not just poor service — that’s negligent business practice.
This company is a mess from top to bottom, and it shows in every interaction. Even 90 Acres, which has never been known for good service, has somehow declined further.
Absolutely avoid this place — it’s not worth your time, money, or patience.
I wish I could afford to stay there more often
I love visiting luxury hotels in different states and unfortunately this was by far one of the worst luxury hotels I have been to. The hotel is VERY dirty! I’m not sure what room service is doing when they come in to clean the rooms but unfortunately there’s mold in the showers , the toilets aren’t clean . The floors are dirty. There is bugs, spiders , and flies all over the place . Mind you, purchased one of their premier suites and it was terrible. The food was okay, the people working there are extremely unfriendly. When I go to a luxury hotel I expect my bags to be taken for me and doors to be held open. I honestly was completely mortified and I could not wait to leave . Please work on this hotel. It has potential but has a lot of work to do.
James Hoodja security went out of his way to deliver my lost belongings! Thank you.
Absolutely stellar! I stayed here for a wedding that I was working as a babysitter for the wedding party’s kids. The hotel is in a quiet spot. The rooms are gorgeous and charming. All of the rooms I was in were different which was cool. Above all the staff was absolutely amazing. Aiden in particular at the front desk was so kind and helpful on numerous occasions. He helped me with my room key, put out room service order in with the kids very particular orders, and even made sure the kitchen had everything. Everyone was so professional, kind, and helpful. There was one staff member who was standoffish but he was still fine. The grounds are gorgeous! I’m very excited to come back and stay to enjoy everything.
The spa was amazing!
I could write a dissertation about the horrific experience I had here.
We booked our stay for the purpose of hosting my daughter’s senior prom send-off; we indicated this on our initial booking (through Amex travel). The only real reason to stay here is for the picturesque views as the rooms are average at best (compared to other upscale hotel brands). In our case we live about 15 minutes away from this property so again, just booked basically to take prom photos. In addition to the initial booking, we indicated we were having a prom send-off via email correspondence with their concierge and via telephone. I thought it was odd that their concierge did not offer accommodations (such as decor, food) as most hotels would, but that wasn’t an issue for me. Upon check-in we, again, indicted we would be having a prom send-off and were shown areas on the property which were ideal for photos. Keep in mind, this is a property that often hosts weddings so there are a lot of places to take photos here. Again, the morning of the event I communicated with the concierge several times via text and telephone regarding the prom send-off and photos. At no point were we ever told that any advance permission needed to be obtained nor were any policies or procedures mentioned in regards to photos on the property or any limited amount of guests.
The day of the event we began taking photos in the designated area we were shown the day prior. A staff member immediately chased us away, citing a corporate event was being held there, however there were no other guests in that area. We complied and went out front to the parking lot to continue taking photos as directed by that staff member.
We continued taking photos in the parking lot as directed as security personnel and staff members began to follow us around, whispering and glancing. Eventually, escalating to a very uncomfortable level of harassment. Of note, there were no other guests in the parking area at the time and the parking lot is not gated, meaning anyone from the street could enter. Also, photos were being taken by close family members, there was no professional photographer present. Eventually we were told by several staff members that we were not allowed to take photos due to a corporate event, even though as mentioned we never saw this corporate event and there were no guests in the area and certainly not in our photos. We were told we were disruptive even though no one was loud, or impeding the space of staff or guests. We were referred to as an “entourage”. When the incompetent and extremely condescending manager Genevieve was asked to provide us with the policies to support her statements regarding policies against photos and “entourages” at a property that is primarily used to host weddings and other events involving much larger parties and photography she failed to do so. She also could not explain why said “policies” were not reviewed and addressed prior to our stay after multiple points of communication with hotel staff regarding the prom send-off. I requested a refund and to leave the property immediately as my daughters prom (which was the sole reason for booking) was ruined due to the harassment of staff, and we now felt extremely uncomfortable continuing to remain on the property after the treatment we had received. she refused. Thankfully I contacted Amex travel and they refunded that nights stay and we left the property immediately. I think it’s important to note that although I am Caucasian the majority of our party were people of color. I have never had this experience at an luxury hotel or even a mediocre hotel. I am completely appalled by the treatment we received here. You will have a better experience at the Ritz, Waldorf, the Four Seasons, Raffles or the JW. Truthfully, I would rather be at a Holiday Inn. Do not patronize this place!

We had a wedding there, and it's a hiding Gem Chautau in NNJ, whoever the architect of these mansions bravo 👏 👍❣️
if you want an immortal party of your life aspecially wedding thiss the place i recommended if it's fits your budget !
Who was the architect ? He should be fired. To build a modern ugly hotel next to a beautiful Tudor style mansion built in 1912 on top of a hill. Makes me want to vomit eCh time I pass by it
Mother's Day weekend getaway. Extraordinary service. Breathtaking grounds. Outstanding food. Amenities galore. If you need to get away from the crowds and just need a relaxing setting, there's no better place to go.
Just call Papa
I booked a suite on the weekend in February to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Overall I thought the staff was very kind and the rooms were really clean and comfortable! They even got balloons for my husband that were placed in the room before we got there along with a small cake, which I really appreciated. You can tell they put a lot of effort into the design of the hotel and the valet service was also great. The only gripe I have with the hotel is the room service. We ordered a meal to the room, and an hour later noticed it didn’t arrive. We called the front desk to ask about it and they realized the order was never actually placed and they re-ordered the food for us. It took another hour for the order to arrive, so by the time we ate our meal it was close to 9-9:30pm with all of the delays. I’m not a very pesky guest but since it was my husbands birthday it was definitely not ideal to experience that. I also noticed that the hotel room didn’t have slippers in the room and we had to call to ask for them, not sure if that is normal or they just forgot to include them in the room but seemed strange for a luxury hotel. Overall, I was pretty annoyed I had to call the front desk 3-4 times that night because I felt like I was bugging everyone to just receive my meal. I will definitely come back one day, just waiting for the kinks with the service to be sorted out since it is a newer hotel.
