4:00pm Sunday 12/22... First time at Union Boil in Pennington. The arrival of an empty restaurant should have alerted me of the obvious: No greeter, no waiters. The host took our order. I have no idea of her name. I was never asked if I wanted anything other than water. I asked if they had a soda and said yes. I wasn't asked if I wanted anything, so I was unsure. The response was I ordered too fast. Waiting for my food, a mouse ran across the floor. We inform the waitress. Giving Union Boil a 3 for the food!

Wanted to love it. The food is inconsistently flavored, as well as inconsistently portioned. The kicker was the flies. I can overlook some things but I was swatting flies off my meal the whole time. Landed on my food, told staff. They did replace the bread. I was then told to push my food to the side of the booth as a fix for flies as if they won't fly a few inches. It was ludicrous. I could not enjoy the meal. Then someone came out, the chef I think, and said he heard about the flies. No apology. Just that he was told, and acknowledged they replaced the bread. Then handed me the dessert menu, which I thought was a friendly gesture to say hey, get something for having to deal with the flies. Nope, my server said he intended for me to pay for the dessert lol. No thanks. I will say, the servers are very pleasant otherwise. I think they just didn't know what to say or do in this case. Great atmosphere minus the flies, small but nice. Maybe they had doors open too long or something and hopefully with the change in weather it is no longer an issue.

Service was good considering we were the only people in the restaurant. I can’t say the same about the food. Ordered the seafood boil and regretted it as soon as it got to the table. We ordered the big boil which they say can feed 3 people, there were about 6 clams and 6 mussels in total. 2.5 clusters of crab legs which half of them as no meat inside. The entire bowl was bombarded with potatoes and the corn looked like it was half rotted. I was super disappointed in the outcome of the boil. Did I really just spend $80 on a bucket of potatoes? Yes I did…

Had a great dinner here. Shared crab cakes, shrimp, clam flatbread and dessert. Everything was fresh and nicely flavored. The dessert was the winner- chocolate olive oil cake with chocolate gelato. So good! Service was attentive and every staff member was friendly and genuine. Highly recommend!

Alex the server was a wonderful server, very pleasant and attentive. Great job! The food was definitely above average good and fairly priced. We had the Mexican corn dish appetizer, the gumbo entree and the lil boil entree, overall excellent. Good place.

Absolutely delicious. Staff were very friendly and attentive. I wish I had stopped in sooner. Our party of 4 shared the deviled eggs with bacon (5) and the bar nachos as starters, followed by a Union Boil, Lobster Roll with Clam Chowder and the Catfish Po'Boy for dinner. We were stuffed and very pleased with our selections!

Had another amazing dinner at Union Boil in Pennington tonight! We were a group of 10 - we started with drinks & oysters on the half shell, the steamed clams, calamari, hush puppies, the pretzel, buffalo shrimp & catfish nuggets. Everything was very very good, my favorites were definitely the hush puppies & catfish nuggets, I put the honey butter that comes with the hush puppies on everything ? For entrees we had a fish & chips (very good, crispy, not greasy, moist fish), 2 kids chicken baskets & a kids fish basket (which all come packed with food, the picture shows the after), the adults shared 2 Union Boils & they brought it out as 1 giant pot. As you can see, 6 adults & 1 teenager ate from it & we still had leftovers! This was my 2nd time there, hubs & I went for happy hour a few weeks ago & had an equally delicious meal & wonderful experience. Definitely check out this new spot, it’s well worth it!
This restaurant is so welcoming and fun to be at!!! I had the yard bird sandwich it was absolutely amazing!!!!!! The service was wonderful and I will definitely be back!!!!!!!

I recently visited this restaurant for lunch and everything was fantastic! Arielle suggested The Agua Vida Paloma cocktail and it is AMAZING! The colossal shrimp cocktail is very fresh and DELICIOUS! I also had the Yardbird sandwich and crab cakes and they were both fantastic. Thank you for a great experience and can't wait to be back again!
