This was my second time visiting within 2 weeks. I have to say the quality of the food and service is consistently great! The place is clean and the staff are very friendly. I tried the mixed grill for 4 the first time. The meats were, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The portions were generous, we had to take the rest home. The second time we tried the Sunday buffet. The variety gave choices for all seven of us. We tried everything. The even kids enjoyed it. It was all delicious. Compliments to the Chef! The menu is very reasonably priced.

My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to visit and have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose Amasi Restaurant for Phillipsburg, our 142nd town.

What a great spot! We're lucky to live in a state with diverse cuisines, but Middle Eastern food is not common, at least not in this part of the state. When we saw Amasi, we knew we had to check it out. It did not disappoint!

The restaurant is well decorated with images, goods, and housewares from Jordan (which are also sold besides the food). Service was great! We enjoyed the Mutabal (oven roasted eggplant mixed with yogurt that you eat with fresh pita-like bread) as a starter. For the main dish, we shared the Laban combo (also known as the Amasi combo) which was a mix of kebab, shish kebab, and BBQ chicken with rice and fresh salad. Yum!

The food was so good that we put in for a second order of the combo to go! It was the perfect dinner the next night at home. If you're passing through the area on I-78 coming or going from PA, skip the numerous chain restaurants in the area and stop by Amasi!

We ate there last night and had a very enjoyable meal. The restaurant is brightly lit with light colored wood decor and a large number of tables.
The servers were friendly, attentive and, even though one large group was rude and demanding, both women kept their sense of humor.
We began with fried cauliflower, a greek salad and Muhammara all accompanied by pillowy khubz (somewhat like pita). My only regret is not purchasing a gallon of the Muhammara to go because the sweet tart flavor from the pomegranate molasses and the texture of walnuts made it addictive.
We then had the lamb chops, which were cooked to the perfect temperature, and served with rice and vegetables.
We also had Mansaf, a Jordanian lamb dish cooked in dry yogurt, served with rice and a hot yogurt sauce. The lamb was buttery soft and very tasty. The addition of the hot yogurt was nice but I loved the dish even without it.
Dessert was Baklava, excellent, not too sweet or drowning in liquid. The Kunafa was recommended by our server as her favorite and it was delicious. Finely shredded phyllo stuffed with cheese, a simple syrup and topped with chopped pistachios. Yum!
The portions were all substantial and perfect for sharing.
Sadly we live 1 1/2 hours away but, the next time we're in the area, we will definitely visit Amasi again.
The restaurant is BYOB.

Outstanding food and service. Place is large, clean, spacious amd utilitarian. VERY generous portions. Mutabal, kebob, bbq chicken, rice was perfect. MUST HAVE: fresh lemon mint slushie. Hidden - or not so much - gem. Hookah lounge. The kunafa is to die for and worth the wait ; made fresh. BYOB. Takeout. When we walked in a saw photos of the archeological wonder Petra, I knew it would be a good experience.
