There are many, many more in the area I need to try still…but Nicolosi’s in Phillipsburg is absolutely at the top of my list for Sicilian slice now. They didn’t have a pie made so I ordered a half. Good thing I did, no way I would have settled for only one slice anyway.
Solid tasting sauce, they must be using Grande cheese, crispy crust with airy interior, the dough had good flavor … just an overall Winner. This was closest to the Sicilian pies of my youth in Brooklyn than anywhere else I’ve tried out this way so far. Not saying that alone means it’s better…just saying that is what I know and am used to so it hit a comfort spot for me for sure.
Check them out if you haven’t already. The half was in the ballpark of $16 for 6 slices. Certainly Didn’t Suck!

Great pizza! Friendly people. Will definitely go there again when in NJ. It was hard to find, but we called for directions and they were accurate. We are happy we went. A+

Great pizza, even greater people. Happened upon this place on my way back to Virginia. They could not have been nicer people. Any town in the USA would be proud to have upstanding citizens like them running an A+++ restaurant like this in their town. Already planning my return trip!

This is the best pizza I’ve ever had anywhere. And I’ve had more pizza than 99% of the population. But please understand, pizza is the only food they sell. It’s also NJ’s oldest pizzeria

Great pizza. I mean, great. I'm a huge fan of the pepperoni pie. Toppings are under the cheese, which makes it so much better.Good quality pepperoni, and sausage. Cheese is good. Sauce is absolutely magnificent.Getting slices here don't do the place justice. Spend the $20 and get a pie. Also, personally if I am gonna get a slice here, I'd just get a plain or Sicilian. I say this because if you get a slice with toppings, they just put the toppings on top of a cooked slice and heat it up. When you order a pie and the toppings are under the cheese, the flavor is really brought out while they bake in the sauce, and the cheese melts making a cheesy toppings matrix of deliciousness. It's a completely different experience.I think they pretty much just make pizza. Bit that's all you need. It's good, and that's that. Bring cash.I've heard that they make a really good Sicilian here, and can't wait to try it.Staff is cool. Place has a vintage charm, despite being in a shopping plaza featuring brutal commercial architecture.Which brings up my real real opinion of this place:I don't know what it is about the pizza, but it's got "it". With that being said, if they brought that recipe down into a better location, with a charming vintage appeal, and started going hard on their socials... they'd make it big. It's like they're sitting on a gold mine and don't even know it. And it's even the best kind of gold mine, their product and their skill.
