About Barbecue Boys - Phillipsburg

Barbecue Boys is a local barbecue spot run by two extremely kind brothers. The restaurant is easy to find and park at, featuring a big seating area that is nicely decorated and offers a cool view. Customer service is frequently rated 10/10, though the small business has some minor learning curves, such as a limited number of high chairs and no clear kids menu.

The food receives high praise across many items. The pulled pork is consistently called the best, or to die for, and the prime brisket—whether in a sandwich, sliced, or as part of catering—is often described as outstanding, not dry, and with excellent flavor, though one reviewer found brisket just okay. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich, especially when requested very very hot, is perfect, super hot with excellent flavor and crispness. Sides are a highlight: the mac and cheese is very good, the Brussels sprouts have amazing flavor, the corn bread is some of the best ever tasted, and the spicy pickles are actually spicy. Other noted items include delicious Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, flavorful loaded fries, and great-tasting baked beans and cole slaw. Minor critiques mention that chicken fingers can be too salty, fries slightly overcooked, and some items, like Brussels sprouts, can be drenched in oil.

The restaurant is highly recommended for both dine-in and catering, with many customers stating they will definitely return and use the service for future events. Delivery is reliable and includes thoughtful touches like metal kitchen utensils for serving.

They made their new menu look so promising and refreshing. I ordered a cheese quesadilla tonight. If you look at their menu it describes it as ‘cheddar cheese quesadilla with barbecue sauce and a side of sour cream and pico de gallo.’ I received something that resembled a crispy frisbee. The quesadilla wasn’t even melted together and there were no sides of sour cream or pico de gallo

Stopped on our way to Rhode Island for lunch today October 11th! The guy doing it all was absolutely wonderful - pleasant personality and handling it all perfectly! Delicious, tender brisket and cheesy Mac n cheese! Great place all around!!

By far the worst experience I ever had at a so called “BBQ” restaurant.. everything dirty, no clean tables.. Had to beg for forks and knives. Worker (and owner) couldn’t be more disrespectful, act like you are a problem, even though you’re the only one in the place. You should be embarrassed at the slice of brisket you served me.. nothing but a slice of fat, and grey and disgusting!! I cook better brisket at home with a low end cheap smoker... What a shame since we have...read full review
