Just showed up to the pine brook location- my family had been going here for 30+ years. Closed. It’s like a death of a family member. New restaurant up the street where the steakhouse was is the new place- not the same. I had to beg the ladies for a menu to see if I even wanted to eat there since the new website is not launched. I’ll be taking my business to the ironbound. At least Mr. Pepe is still running the original one. What a shame.

Don Pepe never disappoints! Their food is absolutely amazing, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and service you receive. I ordered a calamari to go, and the bartender (a super friendly guy) was fantastic. He was incredibly nice and even threw in a huge piece of bread—easily 10 inches long! Definitely enough for leftovers, which was a nice surprise. The little details like this make the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back!

Delicious Portuguese cuisine with abundant portions and fairly formal, but not stiff, service.
The Paella Valencia was huge, as they often are, and delicious, with plenty of shellfish in the dish as well as other accouterments. Also, we had a Chilean sea bass dish that was excellent.
For appetizers, we had the Clams Casino, which were spectacular, and the Octopus Gallega, which was somewhat of a miss, seemed a bit overcooked and lacking in the nice spicing that makes this such a special dish.
Overall, a very solid dining experience and would recommend.

Came here for an office team lunch and had a good experience. The staff was going above and beyond with the service and being very attentive. The food/quality was really good and the price was very reasonable.
For the appetizers, we got the calamari, shrimp in garlic butter, and the grilled octopus. They were all very good 👍
For the entrée, I got the surf and turf and requested for Medium Rare but when I got the steak, it was clearly on the rare/nearing a bit raw and after I told the staff, they took the steak back and seared it a bit longer.
Overall, it was a good experience and will revisit to try the other foods on the menu.
Parking: They have free parking in the back of the building but also valet once it gets busy and into the evening.

The paella was delicious and the steak was delicious as well. It was nice to get a discount since it was lunchtime.
