We went on a Saturday at 11am. When we arrived, we were the only table. No other customers showed up for another 20 minutes or so. We were there for about an hour and fifteen minutes. What went well:-The crabcake appetizer was good. Small portions for $16, but still good.-The eggs benedict was good. The hollandaise sauce was fantastic.-The breakfast potatoes were pretty good, though they could use some seasoning.-Had an issue with being served meat with the eggs benedict (I don't eat pork or beef) and the replacement was made quickly.-Though our server was new, she was nice and she works hard.-Nice highchairs (come with a tray)What didn't go well:-Slow service. Not only the poor lone & new server, but the kitchen as well.-The table that came in after me got their food first & finished before me, though I think they were family of the owners/management.-Specified no meat on the eggs benedict, though it also does not say that it comes with meat on the menu. The server said she told them no meat.-The replacement was brought by the manager or owner and there was no apology from him, just from the server.-The omelet that I ordered for my 1 year old wasn't cooked all the way. The whites on the inside were runny. The menu also stated that it would come with toast, which we didn't get.-No kids/plastic cups. (I believe they normally carry them but were out.)They appear to be short-staffed, but I believe I saw an interview happening while I was there, so I do think they're actively hiring.I don't think I'll be back soon, but maybe in the future. If I have a better experience later on, I will update my review.

This was our first time dining at Sweet Lula's and it was a very nice experience. The service was great and every menu item came out timely. The food overall was very good especially the southwestern corn soups we started with. As for entrees, the filet steak was slightly overcooked as medium but I ordered it medium rare knowing that even the best places usually slightly overcook steaks. But it was tender and nicely seasoned and was delicious. The short ribs were not so good; the dish was was very fatty and a lot of bone but had a nice flavor. The key lime pie was a nice finish to the meal. Place was BYOB which was nice. We will definitely revisit to try out other menu items as this was a great place to dine.

This Restaurant is fantastic. I worked a couple of doors down when they were opening. Chef used to ask me to come in and would put dishes up to try. (Tough job but someone had to do it). Everything I've tasted or ordered has been exceptional without exception. The menu is always creative in the best possible way and food is local and fresh on a daily basis. The description "Gourmet Comfort Food" is perfectly stated.I strongly recommend Sweet Lula's. You won't be disappointedThe owners are wonderfulAlways a personal touch.

Awful. Just terrible service. Went there for the theater across the street for the first time. Very busy on a Friday night in February. Were seated for an hour and 45 minutes, no entrees ever made it to the table. Complained to the waitress, but she didn't care. Talked to the owner, and she had no explanation as to why the 4 person order never made it to the table. The owner wasn't even apologetic. We walked out and the owner had the gall to charge us for the 1 salad and 1 soup that actually made it to the table in the nearly 2 hours we patiently sat there and endlessly waited.

My wife and I and another couple had a 6:30 reservation on a Saturday. We all arrived right before 6:30 and were seated immediately. The place is BYOB. Our server was friendly and engaging, but after my wife asked for a glass of ice for her can of seltzer, our server seemed to have disappeared for 15 min. When she returned with the ice, we asked her for a few recommendations on the appetizers and entrees which she happily provided, and then told us she'd give us a few minutes to decide, but then she disappeared for about 20 minutes. We ordered the fried calamari and the Bang Bang shrimp. The calamari dish was very small, hardly a sharable appetizer and was mostly crumbles as if the kitchen was running out of calamari. Both appetizers tasted ok but very unremarkable. Again, we didn't see our server for another 30 minutes when she returned to take our entree orders. She highly recommended the Braised Short Ribs and the Lamp Chop special. My buddy's wife ordered the Short Ribs but 5 min after she ordered, our server returned to tell her that the kitchen was out of the Short Ribs, so she ordered a pasta dish. My wife who wasn't thrilled with menu variety ordered a beet and goat cheese salad with chicken as an entree, and my buddy and I ordered the lamb chops. The server didn't ask us how we wanted the lamb cooked and we failed to ask, but my experience has always been that they're usually rare or medium rare, but the server will tell you that in case you want it cooked to medium or well-done. These turned out to be very well-done, and a step beyond charred-- they were almost burnt. They tasted ok, but they failed to match our server's glowing recommendations. By the way, our server never stopped by to ask us if everything came out all right and tasted good-- in fact, we didn't see her until we finished our entrees and were ready to order desserts, which was also underwhelming. She looked harried, and perhaps the restaurant was understaffed that night, and there was a show at the Broadway Theatre, although the restaurant didn't seem crowded. In any case, by the time we finished dessert and paid the check, it was nearly 10 PM. Overall, it was quite a disappointing dining experience; however, I want to believe that understaffing was the culprit and that this was an anomaly because being on the main street almost directly across from the theater with a ton of potential diners out there, the restaurant couldn't survive if this were a frequent occurrence. So, maybe we'll give Sweet Lula's another try sometime soon.

Overhead lighting was blinking, they fixed them. 30 minutes for appetizers to arrive, ordered steak medium rare and we were served a very well done one. Waiter was mostly nonexistent, owner eventually came by and challenged us about our order,!preference, and what was actually served! Far too frustrating a process for far too much money and waste of time. We will not return.

Bad night at this restaurant. Found out later it was server's first night. Wish we would have known. Lamb Chops were so overcooked could barely eat them. Food delivered wrong. Told the staff and they offered free dessert but it was so cold we could not wait to get out of there. They should have done more and they had the chance. It was really a bad and disappointing night.

We went tonight and was disappointed. The waitress said our food would take longer than normal because of the show which is fine but then people started coming in after us and getting served before us after waiting over and hour. The waitress came over to us and asked if we had received our food yet. When we finally got it mine was fine but my husbands steak was over cooked. They offered to make a new one and so we decided to wait. When it came out the second time with was practically raw. Even the couple sitting next to us said the steak didn't look cooked. They were rude and decided to make us pay anyways saying they cooked two steaks for us. I really didn't feel like arguing because I just wanted to go. We really enjoyed this place in the past but we won't be coming back again.

Food was very good . Service was cold and unfriendly . Were they short handed and overwhelmed ? Maybe that would explain the wait times but no excuse for the unprofessional service .

Food was very good. We both had the duck. Rolls would be better if they were warm and not actually cold inside.I was disappointed to find out after getting my credit card back that there was an Admin Fee applied. There was nothing on the menu, the bill or said by the waitress when she took my credit card that there would be an additional fee for credit cards. The Admin Fee didn't even say what % was added.Parking: Parking lot nearest to restaurant is usually full. There is another lot about a block away on Holly Ave and street parking is limited. Further away is a free lot near the old train station and bank.

It was busy but.........we waited so long for our food that we were late to the show across the street. 2 hours. Many people came in after us and got served before us. Bread: stale. Entree: expensive for the quality. shrimp Scampi, very bland.

Great restaurant owned and operated by an amazing husband-and-wife team. The food is always fresh, and the menu is always changing. Steak, Seafood, Poultry, Pasta and so much more. Even their salads are amazing. If you can't get there for dinner, give their fantastic brunch a try. They always ask if you have plans to go to a show at The Pitman Theatre, if you say yes, they will expedite things and make sure you get there in plenty of time. We couldn't ask for more...
