You know the feeling when a fish is so “fishy” in the taste similar like metallic ? But the worsts part was the butlers incorrect reaction to our complaint. He had a rude attitude without any insight. Instead he put us down as a customer. AVOID this restaurant!!!

So bad experience with food and staff. The tuna and beef was terrible and we told the staff but they didn’t care. Really bad attitude!!

The waiter was very rude and overcharged us. This was the worst experience we had in our 12 day visit to Spain. Do NOT go here.

Having been recommended this place our expectations were high. The food was good - but overpriced. The real disappointment was the jumped-up attitude of the surly uniformed serving staff - no one broke into a smile at any point. The atmosphere was thus 'stiff' and others seem to be getting the same treatment (with one exception - the dog under the next table who was given two bowls of water by staff). Far better to save yourself some money and enjoy the tasty street restaurants and cafes in nearby Calle Virgin de la Palma

They put us in an area that was very busy traffic. There were other tables free, I tried to change, put the guy with glasses who was in charge to seat the persons on the table was very arogant, saying that other people made reservation months before. The famous Cadiz Rabo the torro had few pieces o plastic bag in it, and the taste was really bad, comparing to what we served in other restaurants. Avoid this expensive restaurant, small pieces of plastic in the food, God damm"it!

First time in Cadiz. We are from Canada. Read some reviews about this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Bad mistake. The maître d' is not very friendly and definitely not competent. My wife and had reservations at 8:30PM when the restaurant opens for dinner. We were there promptly at 8:30PM and we were seated. One waiter came and took our drink orders. So far so good. We ordered a cocktail and a glass of wine. No problem. Then the maitre d' came and took our food order. The bait and switch now began. We do not speak Spanish so we pointed to each item we wanted on the ENGLISH menu. The maitre 'd reiterated all 4 dishes to us in ENGLISH. Grilled vegetables, tempura fish, sea bass and senorito paella with peeled seafood. The dishes all came separately. Another waiter brought each dish to our table. The grilled vegetables were tasteless. The tempura fish was quite tasty I have to admit. The seabass was quite small and served by itself. Finally the rice was served. It was black as midnight and not at all what I expected. My wife and I ate some of the rice but could not finish it as it was quite disgusting. After they took the last plate away one of the waiters asked us if we wanted any dessert and we politely declined and asked for our bill. When the bill arrived I noticed that the rice dish listed on the bill was not the Senorito paella that we had ordered but some kind of black dry rice which was more expensive than the seafood paella and really gross. It may have been black because it was squid ink but I'm not sure. I pointed out to our original waiter who took our drink orders that the rice dish was not what we ordered and he said that the the boss, the maitre d' must have made a mistake. Nice way to pass the buck. That is the bait and switch. They have different waiters take different parts of your order so there is plausible deniability when a mistake is made. They did not apologize, they did not offer to bring us the correct dish. They did not offer to compensate us in any way. In fact the waiter said, "You ate it". To be honest, I wish I hadn't. Do yourself a favour and avoid this overly priced restaurant and go to any of the 100's of local tapas bars. They will appreciate your hard earned money as opposed to El Faro who have do not.

Very interesting seafood menu with new and great combinations. Comfortable chairs old world atmosphere no outside seating But rude indifferent staff , an aloof maitre,d who ignored our concerns and then ignited us. Staff were good till he I guess told them probably to do the same. So disappointed that wonderful food could be so spoilt.

The most unfriendly and unaccomodating service we have ever experienced. Food is ok but service is awful. Cannot recommend if you’re a tourist

The ambiance of the restaurant, the friendliness of the staff, the quality of the food was excellent, we ate with friends as a party of 4 and we were so impressed we had to return, Lubina to die for, Dorado par excellent and the tenderloin was beyond belief. We were waited on by Jose on both visits but all of the staff were so attentive and friendly. muchas gracias mi amigos

Just visited last week, while stopping during a cruise. Was there to try the 'Tortillita de Camarones', which were superb. But the thing that really struct me was the exceptional service from Alejandro and Jesus. We had a sampling selected from the cheeses, the tortillitas, the sea urchin and the fish meatballs. All spectacular. If around Cadiz, don't hesitate to stop by and experience some food paired with great hospitality!

Great restaurant for a romantic dinner. We shared the grilled vegetables for entree. I had the beef and my partner had the fish for main meal.
