Very great haitian food but the experience and the services are even more interesting. Give them a try and you won't regret. The owner was truly wonderful and welcome you not as a guest but a customer and family.

This restaurant doesn’t only have some of the best tasting food I’ve ever had but the portions are enough to feed multiple people large or small. Great customer service, prices and is so well kept. Very clean from top to bottom if you have never had Haitian food or just would like to try something new I definitely recommend this place 5 stars all day every for me!!!

We was in jersey for spring break and stumbled across this little gem in Pleasantville. The service was excellent she was very nice and repeated our order several times to make sure she got it correct . My kids love the food even the picky kids enjoyed it. Presentation was beautiful overall we really enjoyed and if we are ever in Pleasantville we will return.

The cook was very nice, the food was to die for. The black rice was delicious. The griot was cooked to perfection. The turkey was also fried to perfection. Chefs kiss 💋 one hundred out of ten.

Food wasn’t too bad, nice portions, I’ve had more expensive Haitian food for the portion we received. Ordered legume and sospua with plantains and pikles. It’s pretty average, with a nice wait lol, took about 30 min but I don’t mind because I know it’s going to be fresh.

First time trying Haitian food. I was especially excited to try the djondjon rice (black rice), which is a bit dry but pairs very nicely with the meat and vegetable dishes. Portion sizes were decent enough for post-pandemic standards. I also thought the decor was nice, though I was only there to pick up take-out rather than eat in.

Service is where I had to dock some points. When I got there, they hadn't even seen my Door Dash order placed 40 minutes prior and I had to wait another half hour for them to make it. I ordered "ginger juice," $3.49, which I assumed would be an actual ginger-made juice, similar to what I've had in other Caribbean restaurants or West African restaurants. When I got there, the older male working the register said he didn't have any, but then a female staff member tried to give me a regular $2 bottle of Seagram's Ginger Ale which I can buy anywhere for $2 and definitely isn't "juice." I asked if I could swap it for something else, as they had more interesting Haitian imported options I've never tried before, which are all same price or even cheaper according to the menu, but they said I get what I ordered (even though it wasn't what I ordered). Oh well. At least Door Dash was kind enough to refund me for that.

Also they messed up my order for sweet plaintains, which were tostones instead. I know the difference.

Don’t waste your time. I know the owner personally (over 15 years). He runs the barber shop next door. Today I placed an order and got 6 fatty oxtails AND AN OXTAIL BONE for $35. I can feed a small family for $35. After multiple (at least 8) attempts to reach the owner, I left the food where it belonged. On the floor of the restaurant. If they’ll treat a local supporter like this, what do u think they’ll do to you? Pleasantville… I’m sorry to all y’all for this review. But I’m disappointed. Ronnie… Bro…What’s up? I didn’t even want my money back. I came back to the restaurant because I wanted you to taste the food for yourself & to tell you that you need to do better For Pleasantville. Especially for $35. U cut my dad’s hair. U cut MY hair. Ruby was my barber when I was a kid. I know your barber shop personally. I’m glad Steph got up outta there. If this is how your treat your people. I was a proud supporter of Wash’s until they closed. Never had this problem. Same thing with Rialtos. I know Aunt Debbie from the rec. She’s retried. But she’s the whole Pleasantville’s aunt. I’m really a local. You need to treat us better than that. Respect the people that have supported you for the past 20 years. Or you won’t have a future. We’re the reason you have anything in the first place.
