Very nice, cozy place decorated for the holidays. French music and twinkle lights. I came for restaurant week and had meatball parm for an appetizer. It was very good. For dinner I had a slow roasted pork tenderloin with sweet potatoes and string beans. Everyone I was with enjoyed their meals as well.

It was our first time. I brought our family of 8. It was so cozy and beautiful inside with all the little white lights. We all had different dinners. Each of us said they never had such delicious food. The garlic bread had a creamy sauce, my 23 year old grandson licked the dish. He had a chicken dish with white chocolate, so terrific. I had Lemongello Eggplant, Wow! Going back again this Sunday. Chicken wings were in a soupy sauce with little sliced onions, carrots and celery. Wow again! The owner gave us a slice of bread pudding to try. That sealed the deal. Owner was so hospital, his name is George. We give it a 10 plus rating!!

Excellent! Wonderful menu with creative offerings. We shared an appetizer of risotto balls which were perfectly fried and served with a deliciously prepared tomato sauce for dipping. Our lunch entree salad choices were the burrata salad and the grilled cantaloupe salad. Both were presented beautifully and crafted with such complex and complimentary flavors. My burrata salad is one of the most delicious lunch salads I have ever tasted! The limoncello mascarpone cake was tender and moist. Our waiter was very attentive and charming without being intrusive. We will definitely return when visiting Spring Lake.

The best restaurant in Spring Lake. We dined on a Sunday night and started with the Calamari. WOW! Absolutely crisp and fresh. My wife had the Bolognese pasta, (terrific), and I had one of the specials which turned out to be the best eggplant dish I'd ever had. The salads were fresh, and for desert I had the cappuccino gelato . Our waitress Jean was extremely helpful, and George, the owner, a delight to meet. It's a must visit.
We enjoyed our meals here however we were concerned to see an unexplained charge for $60 on our bill, listed as “2 Ber-$60” An employee must have seen our puzzled looks and then me taking a picture of the receipt. At first we wondered if it could be the corking fee for the wine we brought (seeing online that the restaurant is BYOB).The employee said our waitress must have put a charge for 2 bottles of Beringer (wine? Didn’t see any wine list there) on our bill which was for another table. Strange because it was just us and one other table in the whole restaurant. Maybe it was a slow night and they needed to make more money? Something doesn’t add up here. The tables all have large full page sheets of paper beneath the glass tops that ask you to pay with cash. We were trying to scrape enough cash together between the two of us to cover the bill, hence the extra $60 stood out. If we had been using a credit card we may not have been as attentive. Perhaps they count on that?

A hidden gem. George knows food! Arugula serves up some of the best flavor profiles in Spring Lake. Don’t take my word for it, make a reservation. You won’t be disappointed.

Small local restaurant that packs a punch. Interesting menu. Fabulous flavor profiles. Service was a bit lacking. Hopefully the owner plans for future crowds. I wouldn’t pass Arugula’s up when in the beautiful beach town of Spring Lake.
