Jake's Crab House

If I could give this establishment zero stars I would. My family and I were greeted by a nice hostess. We asked for a high chair for our young child. She placed the high chair, and told us she would be back. We were cleaning the high chair and another waitress came out of nowhere and started scolding us how we couldn’t place the high chair where it was placed (mind you we didn’t place it there, the hostess did). She easily could’ve said excuse me and explained her reasoning but she continued to rudely scold us and go on about a previous customer (which had nothing to do with us). We would would have had no issue accommodating her request, but it’s the way she conducted herself lead us to getting up and leaving. If someone asked me if they should try it out, I would definitely not recommend it.

We had lunch at Jake's Crab House today. The fish tacos & lobster salad are delicious! The Skinny Beach cocktail was amazing & Dawn our server was awesome! Love the outdoor dining, too.

We ordered the wings and Crab soup
The wings were big however they were lacking flavor. The crab soup had good flavor and lacking crab, only a few chunks of crab shown in photo. The price for the wings were priced high. Place was clean and somewhat of a ocean view.

The food is okay, but the sushi bar is awful. It’s okay sushi but I’m writing this review at 2:53 AM on the toilet.

I came here with my family and friends, because my kids love crab legs. The crab legs were okay, but nothing special. I ordered fish and chips and got a bowl full of fries with 4 pieces of fish the size of donut holes. The fish was extremely greasy and rubbery. I returned the food, because it was unacceptable for the $25 I paid. It may as well been from a fast food joint. I had a Margareta that was watered down with little taste. It came in a plastic cup with no salt. It appeared that there were only 2 waitresses working although the restaurant was nearly full. My friend had to go to bar to order another drink, because the waitress did not return to our table after serving us until it was time to bring the check.

My family and I (husband and two daughters age 9 and 13) ate here yesterday while on our trip to the beach. The atmosphere was very nice. Clean and nestled among the boardwalk with views of the ocean. It wasn't very busy. Maybe half the tables occupied... After browsing the menu we settled on Crab bisque for my youngest, new England clam chowder for myself, chicken and waffles for my teen, and my husband got crab fries and crab bisque. We placed our order with a nice girl and she then brought us corn bread with marmalade. And that was undoubtedly the best part of the whole meal... our food came out and the crab bisque was extremely watery and a over abundance of Sherry. Each bowl contained 1 single piece of crabmeat. About the size of my pinky nail. Both of them pushed it to the side. My chowder was also very watery, and consisted of very large chunks of potatoes with a few pieces of clam. My daughters chicken and waffles was ok. But it's hard to mess up chicken fingers and a single waffle. My husbands crab fries were crinkle cut with orange cheese sauce. Sprinkled with old bay and a dusting of crab meat. Our waitress did not check on us after our meal was delivered and instead just dropped off the check and said "whenever your ready." Overall we left extremely disappointed for a spending that much money. We come to Pt. Pleasant a few times in summer and unfortunately we will not be trying Jake's again.

My family and I just left your restaurant, we were seated and waited over 10mins and not one waiter or waitress acknowledged us. This is very unfortunate because we drove over an hour and half to come eat here. I hope you guys do better for other customers.

Delicious food! The complimentary cornbread is so tasty! I ordered the Snow Crabs. You get 3 clusters of crab legs along with corn and a basket of fries! 10/10 I was full and happy :)

The food was just OK and similar food can be found anywhere else on the boardwalk. However, the live entertainment was lively and actually pretty good. I don't appreciate that this restaurant does not use metal utensils and all food is brought out in one time use plates or plastic baskets with food resting on waxpaper within. It's bad enough that they also still use plastic straws and drinks are still served in plastic cups This place is a environmentalist's nightmare! Also, there is a 3% credit card usage fee (which is displayed on the menu), but there is also a supplemental fee that is not mentioned anywhere on the menu and was not mentioned by the server. Point Pleasant Beach is a great place to hang out, but it's such a shame that there are so many scammy restaurants there that serve mediocre food at inflated prices.
