It's September so why not go to a beach hot spot for lunch? The food was really good and the wait was non-existent. With ocean views and nice people working the restaurant, we had a good experience. I tried their lobster quesadilla because the hot bread with roasted garlic that arrived before we ordered was too good to not scarf down?. I was very pleased with the amount of love meat in the quesadilla. I'm glad we got a chance to enjoy the meal and the gorgeous views!

There was hair on every plate of food. Didn’t seem too concerned about the situation. Took the plate didn’t offer to replace the fries or anything to make it right. Just gave us the check and we were on our way.

The seafood pasta with extra marinara sauce was delicious, the kids broccoli and chicken was delicious too. However the breaded shrimp pieces in the tacos were dry and small. Nice staff and location.

We were all pleasantly surprised with this spot. Gabi was a wonderful server and the busboys helped out a lot too. The food was great value and tasted great. Good portions too. Hot lobster roll, crab cake sandwich and lobster grilled cheese were all great. Would go again.

They took too long to serve the food and apart from the bad service the food was not very good, apart from that they charged 18% because there were 10 people and 18% more tip, they charge a little money for service when it is of poor quality

Came here years ago and had a big shrimp bucket. Now the shrimp area is replaced with sushi, and the bucket has turned into a little bowl with a few shrimp and the rest is filled with fries. Guy behind the counter said an order of tacos was 3, only got 2. Crazy expensive for no service and tiny portions.

Don’t understand the bad reviews. We had a great time. It’s a great boardwalk spot! Nick was a great server - very attentive, super nice and helpful. The food was quick and absolutely delicious! We had pasta, crab cakes, clams, lobster and lobster rolls. The portions were very generous. Great view out to the water as well. Would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for delicious seafood without having to leave the boardwalk.

5 adults 2 children. Waitres was friendly but just an order taker.
Food was hot n fresh.
3 of us had lobster roll a scampi and chx parm.
Lobster was plenyiful but lacked flavor and dry. The roll could of been grilled, and garlic aioli would be a great addition.
Coleslaw seemed bought not homemade. Warm not cold, mayonaise based. No vinegar or sugar not tasted.
Since this is a lobster house i expected better quality.
Scampi was over linguine, that tasted good, 5-6 large 16/20 size. Few more pcs would have better for the $ 29. Chix parm looked good, although no details to comment.

This review is largely about communication and general experience. Skip if you're interested in specific drink or food reviews.TLDR: Plan to serve your customers or communicate that you won't be. I don't think that's unreasonable.I realize Jenkinson's (and by association, Martell's) is privately owned which means they can behave like they dgaf about people. Hours are effectively "subject to whatever they want").And I realize we are 6 days past labor day. But it is still in the 80s/90s out and there are still plenty of people coming to the beach. Particularly over the weekend.I found it pretty surprising that on a Sunday afternoon that was really beautiful (after a morning storm) that the entire Martell's complex would close at 4:30.My husband and I were hoping to go to Martell's tiki bar in the afternoon (they had a private event from 5-8 in the evening- lobster bake scholarship fundraiser)). Turns out the event got moved to the afternoon. Fine - we'll walk around the boardwalk til about 4 and check back.At 4, we sit down at Martell's lobster bar (in the same building) and order a drink, figuring we'll let the event end and then we'll hop in. Between 4 and 4:30, we see TONS of people turned away from the (inside) entrance to the tiki bar.Around 4:30 my husband goes back to one of the security guys who says "the event is ending but we're not open." Then our bartender comes over and is like "We're closing up bc it's slow and people have school tomorrow." It wasn't slow and I'd wager no one getting turned away from the bar had school tomorrow.Maybe I'm annoyed bc this is one of the few stretches on the NJ shore that is privately owned (so there is also quite limited beach access, plus other restrictions). But, I feel like...put a sign out? Tell people you're not going to be open? Or change your hours online.
