Food was excellent. Had the blackened red snapper with a black bean cake, melon Pico and passion fruit beurre blanc..Snapper was cooked perfectly and black bean cake was delicious. Service was outstanding. Will go back often.
Wait staff very attentive and friendly. Lots of delicious items on the menu from which to choose. Can't wait to go back.
Burger night was awesome. We definitely would go back for that deal. She crab soup, delicious. Salads were good. Half moon burgers and fork & knife burger were cooked as requested.
Easy to park, reasonable prices, nice environment, but the overall experience was very average. I ordered a Lobster Salad and a Basil Old Fashioned, only to have the waiter return to say that they are out of Lobster for the Salad and out of Basil for the drink (at 6:45PM). Also, the food is served direct from the kitchen (not by the waiter), and they left the food without utensils (the busboy took the utensils with the appetizers), it took a couple of minutes with the food sitting in front of us before seeing someone that we could ask for utensils. Nothing bad, but better attention to details would make for a much better overall experience.
I go there because my experience is spectacular every time. The food there is delicious especially all the homemade sauces and salad dressings. Our server was delightful and we had a wonderful dinner as always.
My wife and I had reservations at 4:00 pm. This was right at transition time between lunch and dinner. We were promptly seated and greeted by our server and a trainee. Everyone was very friendly and cordial. There was a little uncertainty about whether the dinner specials were available yet. After a short time we were told they were. In the time we waited for the appetizer, we noticed that the room we were in could use some TLC. Also, there was still no air conditioning. Fans were positioned around the downstairs areas. Upstairs was very cool. We had the Quack & Squeal appetizer. It was very good. The only thing I would ask for are 2 more toast points. My wife had the shrimp & risotto. The risotto was not cooked. The servers said the chef liked to serve it al dente. It was raw, undercooked, and starchy. When mentioned to our server they said other patrons made the same complaint. The shrimp were perfect. I had the halibut. The fish, rice, and sauce were delicious and cooked perfectly. We had the blueberry crisp which my wife said was the best dessert she has had in years. She would come back just for the dessert. Overall I would come back but ask to sit upstairs. (only used Friday & Saturday)
Halfmoon Point is a local restaurant and bar that serves great food and has a very comfortable atmosphere. We enjoy sitting at the bar and they bartenders are so friendly. Always have a good experience there. I recommend to others.
Had a fun night out with this restaurant! There is a bar area and a table area. Nice decor and ambience. Nice choices for specialty drinks dinner specials as well as the regular menu. Appetizer and meals were fantastic and presentation was beautiful.
Food and service is good. Noise level upstairs is way too loud. You have to scream across the table. Will think twice before coming back
Two appetizers and two entrees were overwhelmingly mediocre Others have commented positively but maybe they compare what they ate to a much lower bar Crab dip was a hunt for other than cheese Sweet potato fries were room temperature with no crisp at all to their bite Tuna and shrimp tacos were as bland as you could imagine We were hopeful to replace Catherine's with this restaurant on our short list of Jersey Shore restaurants but nothing we ate or drank would beckon us back

Always a good experience, glad I found this place on Open Table! The menu is not huge but the entrees are consistently very good! Staff is very friendly!
Our first time at Half Moon point. We were favorably Impressed service was excellent. Ambiance was good for a local restaurant with a lot of local people and the food was excellent. It's a good value for the money and we will go back
This is a great place for a nice dinner. The food is always tasty and fresh and there is a bar upstairs and downstairs. It's one of our go to places when we want to enjoy a meal with friends and family.
Food is meh and salted down. Last minute spot for me. Won't comeback. Better options out there. Worth trying: Charlie's of Bay Head, Poached Pear, Spanos, and Barrel and Roast. Never disappoint!!!
First time to Half Moon Point and it was fantastic. Starting with our terrific server Sarah, top notch skills and a bright smile. To the delicious food and drink. Atmosphere was warm and comfortable and watching their young staff on their toes through our meal was so refreshing. Add to it, a super cool duo in the bar providing us with awesome live music in the background was the cherry on top. A++ ratings from these first timers. We will be back and will spread the word. A truly positive experience.
