Mr. Sams Ice Cream Truck

I booked Sam to come to my daughter's birthday party on 6/28 at 8pm a week prior; on the 28th I texted him to confirm. He then told me he had to change it to 7pm because he had a bigger event to go to; when I told him that time didn't work for us he said he could come at 9. I agreed that time would work but asked him to please confirm that he would be there as if he couldn't make it then I'd have to make other arrangements, which he did. At 8:50pm I texted him to see if he was on his way and got no response. I called him at 9pm and left him a voicemail, he called back at 9:15 and said he was still working the other event, but because he had committed to me he would still come - at 10:10pm (he was 40 minutes away from me). When I expressed my displeasure at the fact that he did not honor the commitment he had made, he hung up on me. Do not book him because if he gets a better offer he will not come!

Mr. Sam’s was so perfect for our son’s birthday party. He was on time he was nice to our friends and family. And he was reliable we will be using him again in the future.

I work at St. Clair's hospital in Denville, NJ. He was in our ER parking for 4 hours. I did hot hear ANY Complaints. The ice cream selection was excellent. I highly highly recommend this business for your next party@

Do yourself a favor and do not hire this man for your party. Made arrangements with him back in June and was very honest and upfront- while we were not expecting 50 people at our party we would be happy to pay for 50 ( his minimum) and asked him to stay 30-60min to allow our guests to get ice cream twice. The gentleman agreed, via text. Yet today showed up extremely angry and when I went out to greet him and ask him if he wanted something to eat he told me he wanted to serve the ice cream and leave. I said that is not what we agreed on and told him I was going to get proof of his text messages. I told all my guests and my little birthday boy to head outside to get ice cream only to find that this man left. My son was so disappointed and it was heart breaking to explain why the ice cream truck would leave. I don’t usually leave reviews, especially not bad ones. People make mistakes and things happen but what happened today was completely unacceptable and I am leaving a review so it doesn’t happen to someone else. Shame on you Sam! You are a horrible person!

I hate to give a bad review but I confirmed with this business multiple times for my daughter’s birthday and they didn’t show. When I called 10 minutes after the scheduled time the owner said “these things happen”. I’m utterly disappointed and I would not recommend this business.

His ice cream truck broke down but he didn’t miss our event! He came in a tow truck and threw the ice cream out to us. A stand up guy who will not let you down.

Booking them for our party was the best decision!! Everybody was so excited to see an ice cream truck pull into the parking lot with its music. It brought everybody back to their childhood memories & we all got to enjoy this experience together ??✨

Completely unprofessional and extremely rude! I booked my son’s birthday party months in advanced. I emailed him the week of to confirm the date and time which was agreed upon. He tried to change the time of arrival with no explanation. I voiced my reasoning for the requested time as I had other vendors coming and did not want to interfere, but was willing to work with his unprofessional changes. The next day I was told he is completely booked and his second truck was in for repairs. I would be understanding if he told me the reason for canceling was truck repairs, but being “completely booked” after I have email receipts of our booking is ridiculous. He then went on to say “People lose their lives unexpectedly. This is nothing.” Clearly this man couldn’t handle a little feedback from a female. Email receipts to prove his attitude and unprofessional nature if anyone needs more confirmation. Also can’t wait for his response below. Tune in folks!

We just used Mr Sam's for my daughter's birthday party. Without a doubt the easiest vendor to do business with. He was right on time and the final price was right in the middle of the window we estimated it would be. Price was based on what items people take. You wanna add some excitement to your party and some real wow factor? Hire Mr Sam's.

This is not only the worst ice scream truck, the owner is a very bad man. We, the coaches, hired him for the end of the softball season for our team and their families. We agreed at a base rate for 30 ice screams and then we would be charged per ice cream. However he was charging everyone even our players. He was trying to make more money. When called out, he started screaming, demanded his money and drove away quickly ...This was a private softball field and we were paying for ALL who wanted ice scream as a thank you to our team and their families for a great season. However Mr Sam charged everyone that came to his truck, even those clearly in our team uniform. A very greedy man.

We had our daughters birthday today and after a fallout from a previous ice cream truck we called mr. Sam. He was nice and professional and seemed like he truly cared about my kids birthday. His wife showed up on time and was an absolute pleasure. She was sweet to all the kids as well as the adults. We look forward to hiring him for future parties.

I’d give him no stars but it’s not possible. This man canceled a child’s birthday party for a bigger event, THE DAY OF! He made it simple, he was making more money. He did not care that we booked a week prior. He yelled at me on the phone and was the rudest most unprofessional person I’ve ever worked with. Don’t work with this man. I wouldn’t buy from him if he just drove by my house.
