we hit NYC for a show and parked at the Princeton Junction station. Nearby for dinner we found this gem. A local hot spot which was BYOB and full of professors and Princeton visitors. Large selection of oysters with crazy names and lots of soups that look wonderful. Fish is the specialty with many fresh caught varieties. Trout and monk fish were our choices. The trout was a huge hit! We had mixed reviews on the monk fish due to the preparation with slight breading and a heavier sauce. The oysters we tried were all excellent! We didn’t get desserts but they looked fabulous.
They need a chef, not a bunch of cooks. Risotto was mushy and who puts cream in risotto?

Tried out this place for the first time during Princeton restaurant week, and now I think it might be a top choice for date night! Family friendly too. Great selection of oysters and I loved the entrees my family and I ordered. Definitely want to come back soon :) I also love how friendly the wait staff is. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Not sure how this place only gets 4.5 stars. I’ve had so many incredible meals here over the years. It’s been our go to spot for anniversary celebrations and large group reunions. Even had my bachelor party dinner here! Highlights always include the specials, black cod, and buffalo calamari. All of the fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked.

Service was great but it seems like they microwave their food. Ordered mussels for an app and some were cold and others were hot. The sauce was cold in some spots and scorching hot in others. Microwaving food and charging so much for it is a shame. Overall the food was okay.

Several times here and food is always amazing. Oysters are a must and any seafood entree is always fresh and flavorful. Tried the muscles with mustard cream sauce which melts in your mouth. The twin SA lobster tails never fail and were perfectly cooked.

We’ve been going to Blue Point Grill for many years but our last visit a few months was very disappointing. We ate outside on the roof patio and it was lovely. Quieter than inside. However, some of fish portions were much smaller than on all our previous visits. My husband and our friend were still hungry so they ordered another entree, the mixed grill, to split between them, which also had very small pieces of fish. We’d raved about BPG to our friends, who were there for the first time, and we were all disappointed.
Quick seat quick and good food nice server

Charming spot on Main Street with a warm, casual vibe. The fish was incredibly fresh, cooked just right to highlight its natural flavor rather than overpower it. I loved that it’s BYOB—it gives the whole experience a relaxed, personal touch. The mussels in mustard cream sauce were the star of the night: tender and plump, with a sauce that struck the perfect balance of briny seafood sweetness, sharp mustard, and silky cream. A dish that makes you want to grab bread just to savor every drop. I’ll definitely be back to see what else the kitchen does well.

If you plan on having the short ribs, bring a bib. They were so tender. Thank you for the recommendation Sarah!
