A nice surprise in Princeton! The pupusas were good, they only had one kind, "revueltas" and the chicharron and bistec guisado were also pretty good!

The prices were weird. Pupusas were too expensive (3 for $10), the chicken entree was reasonable ($13 for breaded chicken, macaroni salad, rice & beans), and the horchata was cheap ($2)! There are 7 bar stools for counter seating, so either you take it to go or eat there (and then come out smelling like fried food). It's a local hole-in-the-wall that caters to fellow Central Americans, which is why I wanted to try the food. But alas, the food wasn't that great. The drink selection is good, though! Homemade horchata and tamarind drinks, plus a variety of canned drinks and juices, including mango with pulp. At the end of the day, it's worth a try (it's the only one like it in Princeton) but just don't expect too much!

It was okay. Price was reasonable. 20 minutes to prepare. I ended up getting something different to what I ordered (only noticed when I got home) and there was more than one piece of hair in the rice and beans.

Stop at this restaurant while working in the Princeton area, it's really small inside but regardless food taste amazing and the price is also amazing for the quality you get.

Grabbed lunch from here today and enjoyed my food. First, the restaurant is cash only but there's a nearby ATM if you need to use it. I ordered one of the specials that used skirt steak (sorry, my Spanish is pretty much nonexistent so I forget the exact name) and it was prepared in ~10 minutes or so. I could tell it was fresh, so no complaints there! I took my food to go, and I have to admit that it was pretty challenging to cut up my steak with the provided plastic knife and fork. Granted, I'm not really sure what the solution is - it's not like they're going to give out a quality knife and fork for a take-out order. The steak was definitely tasty and tender for skirt steak, and the sides (rice, black beans, and pasta salad with a jalapeño on top) were all high quality as well. Finally, they offered some side tortillas which were decent but didn't blow me away. The whole meal was only $10, which is extremely reasonable for Princeton. Overall, I was really happy with my experience at Chapin. All of the food was good (with the exception of the side tortillas, which were only decent). I do think that the restaurant could offer a little more information on the ingredients of the specials (I had to use Google!), but I guess I could have just asked the reasonably friendly staff and he would have answered my questions :) But it's nice to just be able to read it off a menu. Anyway, I can definitely see myself coming back!

Got a chance to finally eat here while on an outing with an acquaintance in town. I passed it many times but never actually ate here. Great local spot that's very popular with people I know in this neighborhood. Alway hopping with locals.

No flavor & disgusting. Served the worst food in NJ with old rice and beans. Do not waste a meal eating from here.
