It would take a lot for me to write something negative about a business because I understand these people are trying to make money, but the reason why I had to post is because after the way my husband and I were just treated, clearly Contes can care less about making money. My husband and I drove an hour and 20 minutes from home. We checked that they were open until 10pm and arrived at 9:15. When no one helped to seat us I asked the hostess if we could just sit anywhere. She looked annoyed and rolled her eyes and said yes. Then she looked at the waitress who gave her a look and she said are we closed and the waitress made a fake attempt at looking into the kitchen and said yes we are closed. (I mind you the kitchen was still bustling )So I said we just drove over an hour and she said , oh well., I swear to god she shrugged her shoulders at us and said oh well, l like she didn’t give one crap. So my husband said , it states online that you are open until 10 and she said when it’s not busy we close earlier but they had plenty of people still there. Also I called 2 minutes before we got there to make sure that they took credit cards and she said yes , never saying that they were about to close. I am still in shock that a business would treat people this way. It was very disheartening especially at a time when other establishments are struggling for business.
I do takeout and it's amazing thin and crispy

Very family friendly and so a bit loud. The pizza brought me back to my childhood in a good way. The bartender David was as friendly as an old friend. This is a definite must!

A classic NJ pizza joint! The place is right out of the 1940’s ❤️ At 3:59 PM on Sunday there was a queue in place waiting for the opening ? The Wait Staff worked as a team and made sure we were well attended ? Great selection of draft beers- The pizza was among the best in the state ( And I’m an Old Guy who has lived in all parts of New Jersey!)
Terrific pie!

Came here for lunch after apple picking based off of reviews. It was pretty empty. The pizza came out and it looked crispy and delicious. I loved the flavor of the garlic and mushroom and the tomatoes was amazing! However I’m not a crispy dough person so I just ate the toppings and cheese. I then tried the plain and it was MUCH better than the topping slices. On the plain, the cheese was crispy, flavorful and the sauce was fresh! I did enough the pizza slices but the plain more however it is not my go to places. This type of pizza is for people who like CRISPY CRUNCHY pizza.
