They have good food there and good prices

The Lumberville General Store is a home-style restaurant and cafe that offers quiet living rooms for study and conversation, while also meeting your caffeine and savory needs. The cafe actually offers more than most coffee shops. You'll find soups, salads, breads, sandwiches, and desserts. Prices are on the steeper end so it's not the best for college students. The rooms are very peaceful and have a tasteful ambience. I'd recommend coming here for business meetings, dates, and other classy gatherings.

This is my second visit here, as I always give a place a second chance. It is a charming looking restaurant, but the charm ends there. The young woman who took my order couldn't have cared less....no politeness. The food was ordinary and expensive. I noticed that there was no talking or laughing among the few customers there......the atmosphere was not friendly. I noticed a few comments about the rudeness, and that the owner responded, but has does nothing about it. She shouldn't be in business.

So happy to finally try this place today. We strolled in for lunch after a walk on the tow path. The inside is rustic with tons of tables, chairs and a lounge area in the back. You order at the counter then pick your own table. There were a bunch of tables and chairs outside also. We sat outside and loved being able to leisurely eat out food and enjoy the sun. They have a small menu and have a special each day. The kids menu comes with juice and ice cream. The sandwiches come with a side and you can upgrade to fries. All of the food was fresh and flavorful. The ice cream was so rich a creamy. On Fridays and Saturdays they have supper club and have a new menu each weekend. I can not wait to come back and try more!!!!

Meh Heard conflicting things, ambiance and outdoor area inviting, inside lounge sweet with chess board, totally agree with those that said service is poor. Food is mediocre: chicken salad sand. Had weird bacony flavor, brioche was stale and to tall overall to eat. Kids Mac n cheese oily, kids chicken fingers dry-I noticed ours under heat lamp for a long time b4 serving. Purple coleslaw runny Service: immense attitude and seemed bothered it was busy

The location and setting are beautiful, and the kids who do the complimentary valet are sweet, but the rest of the service here is disappointing at best. Wait staff seems bothered by any request, including a request to order food. Prices would be forgivable if either the food or service were spectacular, but both are lacking.

Awesome spot to grab lunch. Staff was so friendly and sandwiches are delicious and sizable! Our sandwiches (BLT and chicken salad with bacon added) were LOADED with tons of thick cut crispy bacon. Super fresh bread and topped with plenty of lettuce and tomato. The potato salad side was impressively good(I usually don't like potato salad). The Sandwiches cost ~$9 each and are certainly worth every dime!

My husband and I love The Lumberville General store for a hundred different reasons. Just last year we had stopped by for some coffee, and while there--enjoying a sunny day on their outside patio--we discussed once more why moving from NJ to Bucks was a dream we wanted to realize. My husband even said that the whole ambiance on River Road was like being on vacation. Long story short, we did move to Bucks a few months ago. One of our lovely weekend treats is to take the short drive from our new home to our beloved Lumberville General Store to enjoy one of the finest breakfasts around. The French toast with carmelized banana and the pepper encrusted bacon....well, I could wax poetic about these! My husband usually gets a breakfast sandwich or omelet which is always, always perfectly executed. They know how to do breakfast here. We had lunch once so far and I enjoyed THE best BLT ever made in the history of the world. We intend to participate in the supper club in the future, too. Suffice to say that this lovely place is one of the reasons we fell in love with Bucks, and are so blessed to be living here now. It is quintessential Bucks County with the stone walls and deep history. Thank you to all at The Lumberville General Store!

We have been to the Lumberton General Store many times. Today was the best yet. I had a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel and it was the best I have hAd in a long time.

This is for the General Store's Supper Club. They hold a pre fix dinner on Friday and Saturday nights only. This is a super quaint place where they also have breakfast and lunch daily. Our main courses were Short Ribs and Mushroom Risotto preceded by a vegetable salad ( mostly greens and beets but very good!) and focaccia with hummus. Everything was very good including service. BYO. This is a really out of the way place; if you have to ask where Lumberville is, it's probably too out of the way but a good choice if you live nearby.

What a cute, quaint little place on River Road just across the street from the Black Bass Hotel. The building is from the 1740s and has a lot of charm and character. When I walked into the general store I felt like I entered another era. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, coffee pastries and deli items. They also sell miscellaneous goods such as nuts, candies, candles, cards, mugs etc. The main room is set up as a dining area with lots of unique tables and chairs. Here I enjoyed a spinach salad with grilled chicken and a winter coffee blend. There are 2 additional indoor rooms, one is set up lounge -style with a wood burning stove and comfy seating, the other would be a great private party room as it has a large banquet table and additional sofa seating. On this beautiful wintry December day the outdoor seating area was welcoming as the fire pits were blazing with fresh burning logs, surrounded by Adirondack chairs. There is a bike rental area and postal boxes for the locals whose homes sit along River Rd. Just a quaint place overall and I look forward to going back!

The Pennsylvania banks of the Delaware River in northern Bucks County feel like Tolkien's Middle Earth. The river is shallow here, as it has been since before recorded time. Old cottages dot the hillsides and hug the narrow floodplain along the river. Ancient trees tower over the quarry and lumber mills dug out of the mountainside by the first settlers to build their homes and trade with nearby villages. Some of the the descendants of the originals are still here. They look a little different than others with long beards, pointy ears and huge feet. Their accents are not quite American, with hints of old English and Dutch. Some say they are genetically related to Hobbits, but that is just folklore. The Lumberville General Store has been there almost from the beginning. It was the food seller, post office and hot stove public square. These days it has adapted to contemporary life. It is now a roadside deli/cafe and meeting place for later day Hobbits and newer comers who love the slower pace set by the river's rolling certitude. Its three rooms offer different moods to enjoy. The main store with the service counter, bakery display and kitchen feels most like a simple country deli. All wood panels, exposed beams, and small box windows. The middle room has a mix of worn easy chairs and tables designed for buzzing conversation and laptop focus. Deeper within, the back room is enchanted. Calm air. Wood burning stove in the hearth. Large leather sofa comfy enough for an afternoon snooze. Large wooden dining table for 10. Tightly woven Christmas wreath hanging on the stone wall. Small windows with distorting glass overlooking the Black Bass Inn, and beyond, the Delaware. I was alone on entry and sat at the head of the large table to sip coffee while awaiting my breakfast biscuit sandwich. A man and woman walked in a few minutes later and settled at the other end of the table. We exchanged pleasantries, but otherwise kept to ourselves. I could overhear the old dude trying to impress his coffee date. She seemed to be buying what he was selling. Some things never change. I decided to finish up and move on to give these lovebirds some privacy. My Hearty Start Biscuit arrived on a long narrow white plate just after the couple walked in. Two fried eggs, nice and runny, on top of two split grilled sausage links, and inside a fresh soft scallion biscuit. A small pile of hash browns balanced the platter. It was a great breakfast, with the egg yolk oozing onto everything and providing a pleasant savoriness and gentle texture to every bite. Even the hash browns fell under it's spell. A splash of Tabasco would have added interest, but the meal was very satisfying as it was. Their java was brewed extra strength at the coffee station. This was a unifying and complementary moment. It seemed that all elements from the river to the village to the room where I sat to the so satisfying consumption of breakfast, combined, amplified and resonated with each other to make a multi dimensional harmony. It still echoes. One of the best breakfasts I have eaten this year.

On a beautiful fall Friday, I should have known better than to attempt Bucks County...too many tourists! Black Bass was having a private party so they suggested The General Store. We had not been in there since their renovation. It is a cozy little spot, kind of upscale deli. They had a nice selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. We were informed that they would be closing early due to Supper Club? Ok, no problem, it was still early enough to grab some late lunch. F ordered the bacon mac and cheese and I ordered the BLT with mayo on the side... We were told to sit anywhere we liked and our food would be brought to us. When is was delivered by the surly waitress it came sans utensils or napkins. Surly, the waitress, told F where to go to get them himself. Really? F's mac and cheese was very good as was my BLT, however it came with mayo ON the sandwich and TOMATOS on the side. Really? I'm sorry but customer service goes a long way and the lack thereof, just DON'T!

Awesome house-made everything in a comfy casual atmosphere. The outside area is gorgeous for warm weather, with fire pits and space heaters to extend the season. My favorite foods here are any slow cooked meats--definitely a specialty. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone succulent and the house-smoked salmon is salty and flavorful and a favorite of mine for breakfast or lunch. I'd tell you about Friday night dinner club, but I like that it's not too crowded. If you're just driving by, this is the place to stop at. If you're looking for a place to go, this is a destination restaurant--and you can hit the tow path for a glorious walk along the Delaware after stuffing yourself satisfied.

The service could be better. Waited 5 minutes at the register to buy a souvenir mug (after already purchasing other goods) before 1 of the 2 employees decided to help me out... also, If you're advertising an Easter dinner it would be wise to have the employee's informed of such event. When asked about their Easter menu and how to reserve a spot. I was told to "check out our Facebook or website... it might be on there" I enjoyed the coffee and chocolate croissant and also the ambiance... but again, service is lacking. I'll give this place another try. It really does seem like a great place to hang out and relax. I might've caught them on an off day.
