We were in Princeton to see a show Sat. night. Laurea is part of Hyatt Hotel, so parking was easy- and thankfully away from the downtown stretch. It was a quick drive afterwards to the McCarter Theatre. Food was excellent- Arugula salad and calamari appetizers to start. I had the salmon, my husband ordered the cod. This is not my first review of laurea. Our server, Rose, was amazing!! She embodied everything you hope for in a server. Tye cocktails were great. The food, as in the past, was mediocre at best. The calamari and pizza were good. The crostini with the salad we got was torched to black and stale. The short rib entree was weird. The pasta must have soaked up some of the liquid at the bottom of the bowl, and there was a lot of liquid, and looked grey. Very unappealing. The short ribs...
We did the Nee Years Eve menus and it was quite good. The lobster bisque was really good along with the Sea Bass entree. The filet was good as well , not great , but good.
