Very disappointed in our experience last night. I had made a reservation for 3 to celebrate a friend's birthday. Two of us arrived early and sat in the bar for a drink and were treated very warmly by the server/bartender. At 6:30, we were shown to a very small table (clearly meant to be a 2-person table). As soon as we sat down, I realized that the table was too small. The hostess seemed to be bothered that we made a request to change to a table with sufficient space (there was a 4-person table next to us). She said we could move but HAD to be finished by 7:55 as she had a reservation for 8:00. Or she would put us at the counter. (I reserved a table for a reason, so this wasn't an option.) She made it OUR problem - even though she was the one who sat us at a table not meant for three guests. She asked twice if we were sure we'd be finished by 7:55. It was very awkward and to be honest we felt like we weren't valued guests. She made a few walks by and seemed to keep looking at us. What kind of establishment treats customers this way? Why were we seated at a small table in the first place? It should be noted that when we vacated the small table, the wait staff took away the third place setting and made it a "2 person" table again. The food was delicious and our server was attentive and sympathetic and treated us very well. But be forewarned - if you make a reservation, insist that they put you at a big enough table to avoid the experience we had.
Have had a great experience there in the past. Not sure it was my selection (tempura mushroom, burrata, wings) but this time the food was wanting: bland and high fat (especially tempura). The service was great: efficient and unobtrusive. Nice wine and drink selection. I'm sure this was a one off experience
This was the most disappointing of my three visits to Mistral. In short, the menu has entirely too much seafood. Perhaps 75% of the "medium plates" on the dinner menu were seafood. They even ruined the sole pasta dish by preparing the pasta with squid ink. I would have expected the menu to offer at least one chicken dish. I ordered the duck with plum sauce to avoid seafood. The duck was good but not great. (Duck is often chewy.) The appetizers -- ham & cheese beignets and Tempura Mushroom -- were outstanding! For dessert, the honey custard with chamomile ash was unique and tasty. Unfortunately, they ran out of the chocolate dessert even though we were among the first guests of the night. Ideally, I'd like to see at least two chocolate desserts on the menu. The B-A-N-A-N-A-S cocktail was very good -- unique, balanced, and not overly sweet. Last Summer, Mistral served one of the best dishes I've ever had: Sardinian Fregola Pasta (braised lamb, mushroom, chervil). Please bring it back! It was phenomenally good. When we exited the restaurant, two men (who appeared to be employees) were smoking on the patio immediately outside the door (between the bar and the sidewalk tables). Catching a breath of smoke is arresting and disgusting, especially upon exiting a fine dining establishment. Mistral should ban smoking on the property.
3rd time here and it never disappoints. Unique dishes that hit just right 🤌🏻

The service was poor at best from the moment I walked in. The bartender (I intended to sit and eat at the bar) was less than helpful, even seemed mad when I asked for a menu and drink menu. So I sat at the bar, I stayed only bc a football game I wanted see was on. After I sat down for a few maybe 5 minutes another couple sat down at the bar. After another couple of minutes he goes over to the couple and asks if they want something to drink. Meanwhile I'm sitting there just the couple and myself at the bar waiting to order a drink. The food was okay, overpriced for what you get but only okay. I got the the oysters 1/2 dz $24, not good, tuna sashimi $21 and the tuna tostadas $20. I had multiple drinks once I got served.

As a former employee I can tell you this place is one of a kind the chefs Vick and Jackie work so hard to provide a comfortable and delicious experience! The staff is trained and is always willing to assist! Totally recommend.

Nice place to meet for brunch. The appetizers were very creative and tasteful. However, we were rather disappointed with the fried Chicken burger. It was rather dry and nothing out of the ordinary and was priced $ 25. My high expectations of Mistral (which I had been before for dinner) were not met.
Lovely spot for sharing small plates of modern fusion dishes — beautifully presented and full of flavor. The cocktail menu is small but well-curated. Great choice for a date night or catching up with friends.

Google places says this place is open at 4, when we got there, only the bar was open at 4. Please update your listing so people don't mistakenly believe they can come to eat at that time.
Very loud to deafening noise level !!! If you are looking for a quiet, romantic place for dinner this is not where you should go. The service was excellent and the servers were friendly. A good place to go for happy hour, but for dinner and conversation I don't enjoy having to shout to be heard.

Food was very good, probably the best in Princeton. It's just a bit small and the tables are close which contributes, along with the open kitchen, to the noise level. Otherwise a very nice dinner.
We have been regulars since Mistral opened. The food is amazing. The service, however,...the staff was extremely nice& friendly, but it took way too long for the food to come to the table
Our very first experience at this restaurant in Princeton was with Hubert, and he was such a big part of why we decided to celebrate my 45th birthday here. He made us feel welcomed and gave us the confidence that our party would be in great hands.
The night of the party itself, Christian, Jaden, and Jonathan went above and beyond to make everything perfect. Their energy, professionalism, and attentiveness made us and our guests feel like true VIPs. They created an unforgettable atmosphere that set the tone for such a special night.
We even came back the very next day, and Ashley was so personable and genuine in connecting with us. She added that extra touch of warmth that makes this restaurant stand out.
From start to finish, the staff has been exceptional. The atmosphere, service, and genuine hospitality keep us coming back with great people time after time. Truly one of Princeton’s best!
