Always delicious!! The tuna tostadas were the most delicious tuna ever !! Everything was excellent!
Food was very good. Service was spotty but friendly. Extremely noisy and steamy near the kitchen
Salads and fish "middle plates" (entrees) we're excellent but the duck entree was tough. The service was fair, at times ok, otherwise distracted. Our party of 4 arrived at 6:15 for a 6:45 reservation. We were told to wait in the bar until our reservation time The main dining room was empty. When questioned if we could be seated earlier we were told "We like to seat people close to their reservation time." Another person at the desk said we could be seated. It left us feeling that there was no common sense or no training. Wait staff was similar, no patience, little attention. Sorry - we won't be back.
Food was not good. Service was careless. Tables that seat two are literally on top of each other. And you cannot hear your date over the noise of the conversation of the couple next to you. Stay away from Mistral!
Every plate we had was amazing, server helped us decide each plate and was knowledgeable of everything, ambiance was upscale fancy but relaxed. One of my fav rests ever and deserves every bit of praise they receive. i have 0 complaints and i often complain about everything
Good for a quick bites to share and a drink but definitely overpriced for what you get. Better option is to visit during a happy hour and outdoor seating if the weather permits is less noisy and less crowded than inside.
My wife and I went for dinner. We arrived early and had a happy hour warm up at the bar, and then moved to the main restaurant for our reservation. We sat at the counter and watched the chefs prepare the food. They were friendly and happy to share what they were making. Our very relaxed meal began with the shrimp Bao Buns which were delicious. Next we moved on to the wings. I wanted the Chicken 66, which is made with a mix of 66 Indian spices. However, my wife wanted the Szechuan style, and overrode me :-(. The waitress overheard our conversation and to my surprise she brought both, but only charged us for one since it was my birthday. This was a very thoughtful and unexpected surprise. Kudos to Mistral for empowering their servers like this. Next we had the Tuna Tostadas. Tasty, but my least favorite of the night. For an entree we ordered the duck with cherry sauce which was one of the specials. This was outstanding - absolutely yummy! To cap off the meal we split the Burnt Honey Custary - also very enjoyable. By the way, we did order a bottle of wine. The 2023 Altesino Rosso Di Motalcino was excellent and was reasonably marked up.
I have eaten here maybe 15-20 times in the last decade, and I always felt the price was worth the food and experience. However as the restaurant adds more tables around the perimeter of the building, it appears that the kitchen and the bar cannot handle that many customers. Last night we waited over 40 minutes to get our drinks, and an hour and 45 minutes to get our main course. With the delivery of both our drinks and food, the waiter made an offhand comment about how busy they were as an excuse for the long delay. The food was as good as it normally is, but the whole evening was super slow. The restaurant should better manage its reservations so the kitchen can keep up.
An all around fantastic dining experience. The menu was varied and enticing. We ordered a number of small plates and medium sized dishes and each was very well prepared and delicious. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. The wine by the glass list was well priced but very high quality. I will dine her many more times.
Service started out good but then we were rushed in placing our order and drinks didn't come until after 3 of our dishes already arrived and were half eaten. Drinks were really good though. The man refilling waters and clearing our plates was polite and attentive but our waitress was disengaged and didn't say a word when presenting our bill or returning it after payment. Not sure if they were short staffed but if that were the case, a simple explanation would have been appropriate and provided a bit of context for the slow and disengaged service. Tuna tostadas and fattoush were excellent.

The new additions to the menu are very appealing. We sampled several and were impressed with the flavors and presentation of each. Our favorites were the tuna tostadas, shrimp bao buns, crab bites, tempura mushrooms and especially the grilled kale salad! Mistral remains one of the best and most creative restaurants in Princeton region. Also, the wine list is excellent and very reasonably priced,
The most memorable part of the experience was when called to confirm reservation, I was asked if anyone in the party had any food restrictions or allergies. This was the first time asked this before arriving at a restaurant.
Food was excellent. Service was good but I feel like they were understaffed. Either someone called in sick or they didn't schedule enough. Things were a bit delayed, but not egregiously. Would done here again for sure.
Sitting outside on a beautiful evening. I love the tables on the sidewalk. Food was not good and service disappointing. Our table was super wobbly and multiple servers walked by while we're were trying to remedy the situation but none offered any help. One of our party ordered from the Elements menu and their entree was served 10 minutes before anyone else's.
Super disappointing. I used to eat at Mistral frequently around 2018 when I was a chef in the area and always loved it. I've been singing its praises since then, but it was nothing like it used to be. I started off with an oyster shell getting stuck in my gum, the server was very sweet and apologetic but her manager refused to take the rest of the oysters off the bill. The rest of the food was desperately under-salted, sauces were broken, and the steak still had some of the silver skin left on. Simply not good food, nowhere near as good as it used to be. I was there celebrating my mom's birthday and we didn't even get dessert. Definitely won't be back.
