Romantic restaurant with a beautiful warm fireplace section. The food is very tasty but the prices are incredibly expensive. Recommend for special dates

Went for Valentine’s Day and the server took forever and was not professional. Food was decent but not worth the inflated price. The “Grilled Bavette Steak” aka flank steak was prepared good but cheap cut of meat and everything on the dish tasted over saturated with butter. Asked for the desert to go; I’ve had better red velvet cake from supermarkets. Not worth it.

OMG THEE BEST Szechuan Wings ever. Bring an appetite and try all the small plates. We had the Bao, Szechuan Wings (the nutty topping is great with the rice chips), tuna Sashimi paired with perfectly ripe pear slices to cool down the hot chili bite, beet salad, Ramen and scallops entree. The scallops were subtly prepared, simple. Which I really enjoyed but I would suggest starting the meal with them bc the simple taste might be overpowered by the spicier and more robust starters. Service was impeccable. Cocktails were perfect accompaniment to a great meal. Heated patio seating was warm and cozy on a cold night. Highly recommend and will be back.

The tuna tostados and tempura cauliflower were delicious and you must try the homemade donuts for dessert. Solid service and would recommend for a date night or solo dining at the bar.

Came in for brunch. Very solid food, very solid wait staff, very solid restaurant. Will be returning.
Went here for my wife and I's first anniversary. Service was exemplary. Food had us blown away. 10/10 recommend and we want to come back ASAP.
Mistral and the team never disappoint. The food is always the highlight but this time it was one step above their normal. Love it!
Every bit of experience was just amazing. The food Tasted so yum, and the hostess to the server Ms. Stacey where so patient and settled us so comfortably that, we ended up with a lovely time and memory that will never be forgotten. It was simply just perfect evening that we would not change for anything. Thank You to Team Mistral, the chefs who cooked such lovely tasty dishes that we relish the thought of it even now and to Ms. Stacey, for making it so friendly.
This place offers a wonderful mix of great flavors and a relaxed vibe that makes dining here very enjoyable. The food tastes fantastic and feels thoughtfully prepared, perfect for an easy yet refined meal. The cocktail menu is creative and well crafted, with enough variety for anyone to find something they like. Sitting at a high table adds a fun touch, especially if you enjoy seeing the kitchen at work.

While I've enjoyed their food in the past, their lunch service was underwhelming and overpriced.

I love Mistral! Even if they change their menu constantly and the things you love most disappear quickly, their replacements are usually just as delicious.

The service at Mistral last night was extremely terrible. Mistral is definitely not usually my first choice for a nice night out but the wings are really good, so when my friend and I wanted to meet up for a quick “end of semester” celebration, I happily agreed.
We got there at 8. Sat at the bar. It took more than ten minutes to get the attention of the bartender to just order water and drinks. Even though it really was not busy. It was like they were ignoring customers so that they didn’t have to do any work. Eventually one of them asked if we would like to order food. We said yes. Then she turned around and walked away? It was weird. Eventually we flagged down the other bartender and placed an order, being thoughtful to ask what time the kitchen closes, what time is last call, etc. Not trying to inconvenience anyone but jeez it was like we had to beg them to do the basic service.
We got our food, it was fine, proceeded to finish up our meal. At 9:30 the bartender said, “We are doing last call, do you want another drink?” We still had half-full drinks but we said, “Sure, I guess”. Then two minutes later she comes back saying she can’t give us another drink because of some “two drink per hour rule”’or something. And it’s like, “then why did you even ask us at last call?” Then she is loudly cleaning up the bar, smashing dishes, yelling about stacking the chairs outside and how she has to get home.
Anyway, it was super weird and unpleasant. Go enjoy your time at literally any other restaurant in town that knows how to do customer service.

The food was great. Recommend the Bao buns, pan seared duck, and ramen. Good cocktails, too!

We had the beignets, gem salad, salmon & bavette steak.
I reallyyyy wanted to try the beignets but they were more like a dense, circular doughy donut with a slight bit of thick prosciutto and cheese. The sauce accompaniment was cold which was kind of interesting but not maybe the point?
The gem salad 10/10 perfectly crispy and fresh- probably the best part of the meal.
The salmon was paired with a tomato sauce that was so ferrous it tasted straight from a tin.
Bavette steak was good but I would order medium next time bc it was pretty red.
The ambiance was good. The drinks were pretty good. Price to food quality gives it a little less than a 4

Overpriced for mediocre food and lousy service. Princeton is usually a welcoming place, but the unwelcoming attitudes you sometimes run into come from people who aren’t really part of the community.
