Tried the mapo tofu ramen and it was very very good. a bit pricy but a large portion and quick turnaround, and good vegan option

It was a decent experience. The exterior looks appealing and quiet Japanese. I don’t know if the owner of this place is Japanese or Cantonese though. I had ramen, which was really good. The service was fast and helpful. However, I had to mention that the food is a little overpriced, and the bathroom there needs some cleaning.

We are tourists, visiting a family member in town so perhaps our accent is not totally American. It started with the waitress laughing in our face (actually laughing out loud) because we did not pronounce the word Ramen correctly. When she managed to calm herself down, she condescendingly asked us if we ever had ramen before. We had, on numerous occasions. We placed our orders and received our food. The starters were ok, it matched the price level so no complaints. But then the ramens arrived. My daughter had a big piece of plastic wrapping in hers. Mine tasted and smelled like it went bad, and three other orders were hit on the top, but cold on the bottom. The waitress apologised for the plastic wrapping and offered to replace the dish. My daughter refused as she lost her appetite. Some time later, the manager came around and asked us if everything else was ok, I told him the truth. The dishes remained on the table untouched. He got upset with us and told us that we must have never tried ramen before. I didn’t seek any further contact with him, I just asked for the bill. The same waitress came back holding an electronic screen with the bill, as I couldn’t see whether we were compensated for the dish with the wrapping in it, I turned to her and asked. Her response was to click on the next page were you choose the amount of the tip. I didn’t argue any further but I clicked on no tip and paid the 175$ bill. She got upset again and left without ever providing a recipet. Not sure if I ever had such a bad experience dinning out.

The interior was a good vibe and seating was very open when we came in, was around 4:00pm too. We ordered two ramens only for it to be mediocre, both were $20 a bowl too. The waiter wasnt either nice or rude, she was just there. The restaurant seemed to not just stick to Japanese food either, having a separate menu for cantonese food. Normally im okay with tap water, waters water right? But the water was really weird tasting that it made me avoid it the rest of the meal, except the ramen was too salty for me that i couldnt avoid it.

Bad service and sanitary conditions. There was a piece of plastic in our soup and when I told the waiter about it he apologized but did not seem too concerned nor did he offer any compensation.
We felt nausea after eating here.

Food was bland, not authentic tasting at all. Forced a mandatory tip of 18% when only my friend and I dined there. Absolutely ridiculous behavior. I didn’t notice “mandatory 18% tip” written anywhere, so I don’t understand how they can enforce this (or how it’s legal). We weren’t given water either. Not to mention, food was very overpriced for how bad it tasted. Would NOT recommend at all.

A critical element for ramen is the hot and tasty broth, unfortunately two types of ramen that I tried (spicy shrimp udon and tonkatsu ramen) were both very disappointing. The noodles were chewy to deserve the two stars given. Ordered katsudon however got a katsudon platter without traditional sidings, and the pork chop was small and thin. The price is very high considering the modest portion. I hope they can improve their quality.

The place is cold. The food tastes like from half-cooked package. They charge 3% process fee for credit cards and don't make me even start on their service. Oh and the food is super high priced compared to its quality.

Not that great. Especially since the pork ramen had only 2 tiny slices of pork! Flea or was good but not exquisite and what about two small balls of fish patties??? If it pork then what should it have? For me, too expensive for the experience

Tried the ramen and it was the most mediocre and weird take on ramen I’ve ever had. There are Chinese-style fishballs as toppings that seem to come with every ramen and the broth just tastes like excessive MSG. The price is also expensive for the quantity and quality; compared to other noodle soup places in the area.
Tip is also forced @20-30% for terrible service
Go anywhere else.

Restaurantji Recommends
We ordered pork ribs with shiitake chow fen and beef&radish ramen. Chow fen was not fresh, and ramen was undercooked and bland. Our appetizer never arrived when there were not even 10 people in the whole restaurant. Foods are way overpriced.

The service was really bad. The waitress seems unhappy with something and passes her emotions to us. Do not recommend.

Food was great, portion got lower yet prices went up. Self tipped.
There was no option for tipping, it was automatically added. 20-30% tip, some of us paid ten dollars in tip while service was mediocre.

This place was a bit strange. They had all the typical japanese ramen offerings, but they also had a separate, hand-written menu with cantonese style food. The waitress also was advertising to us some kind of deep fried vegetable root (maybe lotus root???). Our group got two ramens, two Beef Chow Funs, Chicken Karage, Takoyaki, and that deep fried root. I got the beef chow fun, and it was solid. I tried some of the ramen, and it was okay. The chicken and takoyaki were below average, but we did not like the fried root. It was cut too thick and not seasoned. We much preferred the side salad and berry dressing that came with it. Service was also a little slow. They only had one waitress and the restaurant was maybe half full. The space was clean and looked like a typical japanese restaurant. Although, our table for four felt a little cramped. This restaurant seems to have an identity crisis, floating between Japanese and Chinese cuisine. For the price, the food was not worth it. I'd only come back here if there were long wait times for other places (which is why we came here in the first place).
