The food was OK so hence I'm giving it a two star instead of a one star to be fair. However the "special" rolls are so small, especially when compared to other Japanese restaurants in the area where the special rolls tend to be larger. They were the same size as the typical regular rolls. I ordered the Special Roll party platter tray, and the rolls were placed slightly scattered out so when picking up it looks like a decent size tray, but as I drove home and things shifted then you can tell the tray is only half full since the size of the rolls are so small. Don't bother ordering this party platter tray for any parties. The attitude of the lady in front was also not good and not friendly. The place was empty and not even busy, but when I arrived to pick up she just said "Not ready yet" in an unfriendly tone and when it was ready she just said "OK" and handed it to me. No thank you, nothing. I paid over $75 for the food. It's not like I went and got free food or something, so a slightly better attitude would have been good for a paying customer, especially when there wasn't anyone else there. Tried this place once and will not be going back again.

Food is very good, the salmon and eel both taste fresh. Lunch specials here look like a very good deal, get a lot for your money's worth, but even if you come outside of lunch time, the prices are reasonable (especially compared to other places nearby). It does take quite a bit of time to get your food, though- they work pretty slowly. Would highly recommend calling/ordering ahead of time. Meh service, sorta brusque/unfriendly and they don't seem to like answering questions, but this is very much more of a takeout place anyway. Small area with a few counter seats where you can eat inside if you want.

Pretty solid take out place. Would be happier if indoor seating situation was better but there's not a lot of space to begin with so i can understand. recommend the Maki combos!

Tomo Sushi is a courteous restaurant with great prices and generous portions! My salmon teriyaki and miso soup were delicious and filling :)

Best sushi in Princeton and I don't think it's close. I'm shocked this is currently at a 3.5 average, I've rarely thought Yelp was so off base. Frankly I think it's better than almost all the takeout sushi I've had in New York. It's nothing fancy, but the chirashi and the standard rolls are excellent. And the owners behind the counter are always very friendly.

Worst attitude, very ignorant/extremely rude and they can care less that they are.

Owners are racist. Very rude to Black customers. Avoid

The quality of the sushi here is awful everything about it is subpar compared to any other sushi restaurant I’ve been too.

I have been a patron at this place on-and-off since 2014. I find the restaurant itself to be charming, it feels like a cozy Japanese izakaya, even though I don't think they serve alcohol. I have been to Japan, and to authentic sushi places around the world — and this place is authentic enough. What I like about it is: (a) The food is always good, (b) the food is always prepared very fast and (c) the people running the restaurant are kind and friendly. I like to order from their online Square platform because the prices there are the cheapest since they are not gouged exorbitant fees from the platform. I love ordering lunch and picking it up 15 mins later. Through dozens of orders, the food has always been exactly what I wanted. This place has been consistent for as long as I have known it. I am glad it is around.Vegetarian options: There are 8 types of vegan rolls (avocado, A.D.I., natto, cucumber, avocado + cucumber, health roll, veggie roll, avocado + carrot).

The owners are so friendly and this has become a staple for me and my family. Their nigiri comes with very large pieces and they are always dependable. Their non-sushi japanese food is also excellent. Overall, I love this place and can always count on tomo

I'm on a hunt for the best poke bowl in princeton. I don't think this is it, but it was definitely better than Fresca bowl. Online order and pickup went very smoothly, didn't interact much with the workers but they seemed nice. Wasn't super cheap but was reasonable (~$15 poke bowl). I wish there was less rice and more fish, avocado, etc... I'd be willing to pay more for more salmon. Overall, I would probably return, but the hunt continues...

Best Katsu Don I've had in the US! My partner had Gyu Don which was extremely good too! We tried Katsu Don and Gyu Don at many other Japanese restaurants but nothing matched the quality and taste of theirs!+ Mr and Mrs Tomo are the sweetest people in the world! Make sure to say hi to them if you're picking up your food in person!
