While the customer service and presentation of the meal was excellent, the “boil bag” was unbelievably salty. The only flavor was salt. The corn was salty, so it wasn’t even palatable. There were a few shrimp that were either bad or undercooked. I love to support a black owned business, but when you spend $40+ on food, I expect it to be worth it. Couldn’t get through the boil. The cashier recommended some chicken meals, but I’m pescatarian. Hopefully this was just a bad day. Disappointed.

First time going there and the young lady in the front was very polite and pleasant..Got some food for myself and got some salmon and shrimp with pasta for my mother she totally loved and enjoyed it I got lobster and shrimp and pasta for myself..#Love❤️Will Definitely be going back to try another Dish????Kid-friendliness: The service was excellent!! I had to take the time to leave a review for this restaurant. This is the second time I’ve had food catered from Cooks. We ordered lobster Mac and Cheese so creamy and cheesy, perfectly balanced yams, Hennessy wings with a kick, biscuits with a honey butter glaze, and collard greens. Everything was simply delicious and ready upon arrival. I appreciate the professionalism and consistency I receive from this restaurant. The banana pudding is delicious as well.

New location is immaculate. Rebranded, and new menu. Food was amazing beyond belief. Definitely one of the best soul food in Jersey. Definitely a must try. Everything is cooked the same day and comes out fresh. Not just microwaved or heated up. Totally enjoyed the stuff salmon with crab, and the banana pudding is a must have.

Nice take-out spot. The salmon platter was delicious. Rib platter was tender and so tasty . Honey biscuits were finger-licking good! Banana pudding was on point. Everything was great including the friendly service. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu .
It's unfortunate that the food on Instagram looks beautiful but it is nothing like what you receive. 2 stars because the Salmon was delicious. Everything else is lacking

I was very disappointed with my meal today. I ordered the 6pc fried shrimp platter. It came with mac & cheese & candied yams. For starters, my food was cold by the time I received it & my FOUR pieces of candied yams tasted like they were buried in syrup. The mac & cheese had way too much sage in it. I wouldn’t recommend eating here at all! The original restaurant didn’t taste like this. Who’s the cook nowadays ?

Lobster roll was way too salty I couldn’t even eat the whole thing. Lobster was overcooked. I only live a few minutes away and fries were cold. Best thing was the bun! Hopefully next time I order, food will be better.

Just leaving Cook’s kitchen first time going here since the new renovation about six months now I only ordered shrimp and french fries it took almost 1520 minutes to get the Shrimp also dried up and over cooked and hard. Never again
