It is a shame that AFGANI FOOD is prepared by non afgani people!!!!! A total waste of money, taste and atmosphere.
I ordered basmati rice with carrots and raisins and falafel.
Rice: It came brown not white, it was totally flavorless, on top 5 carrot microscopic pieces and 4 raisins.
Falafel: It looked green but once in your mouth it tasted like bread. I took a close up look and they were pieces of bread fried with some green spice to look green.
Real Afgani Falafel made by Afgani people are made like this:
🇦🇫 Afghan Falafel
* Base Ingredient: Usually chickpeas, though some variations might mix in fava beans.
* Seasonings: Uses South-Central Asian spices like coriander, cumin, garlic, onion, and sometimes turmeric or curry-like spices.
* Herbs: May include cilantro and parsley, but less dominant than in other styles.
* Texture & Taste: Often slightly denser and spicier than Egyptian falafel.
* Serving Style: Commonly served with naan, chutneys, or spicy sauces, rather than pita or tahini-heavy dressings.
The served falafel I just tried but did not eat them have nothing to do with the above description.
If you are missing food like back home, do yourself a favor and NEVER consider to go to this place!

Placed my order an hour in advance—showed up and nothing was ready. The staff had no idea what was going on, and no one bothered to check their own system until I pointed it out. Only then did they realize they dropped the ball, and all I got was a weak “sorry for the confusion.”
It’s clear the management here is either totally absent or just doesn’t care. The laziness and lack of professionalism are hard to ignore. You’re honestly better off ordering next door from McDonald’s—you’ll get better service, faster food, and people who actually know how to do their jobs.

I used to come to the location in south bound brook at least weekly during Ramadan. THAT restaurant clearly makes the burgers on site and has good ingredients. I stopped here thinking it was the same place and let me tell you, it is NOT.
I ordered the paradise burger and I strongly believe they got the burger from across the street at McDonalds and pocketed the difference. It did not taste normal, definitely did not taste like a kabob paradise burger. It did not even taste like meat. This was clearly something that had been frozen and reheated, zero flavor, weird texture like cardboard, and the staff was non-Muslim and acted like they didn’t want to be there. Took forever to get this basic order, place was almost empty. Will not return, pretty sure they sold me non-halal food. DISGUSTING.

The food is always great here. I got the chicken gyro platter, and the rest of the family got the Venus burgers. Just like I remember when we lived in NJ. give them a try, you decide 🤔
