I stumbled on Yedang’s PHENOMENAL red bean mochi at a cafe in Manhattan. I’m usually skeptical of packaged stuff from overseas (and believe me I’m Chinese) — who knows what preservatives and flavor maskers are in them — but this was pillow-soft, not too sweet and no “additives” aftertaste. $6 isn’t cheap, but with tariffs, get use to it. Looks like they’re made locally - hard to say if it’s just repackaged.
This place has the best 떡 (tteok) outside Korea. I don’t get why it has less than 5 stars! The ladies that work there are always so sweet and, if you buy a few cakes, they always give you a free one. They make real artisanal rice cakes with natural ingredients. I love this place!
Best ricecake place ever. They have the finest high-quality ricecakes. Chewy and soft, and you can tell it’s “homemade.” If you want some genuine traditional Korean ricecakes, this place slaps. Expensive yes, but totally worth it.This rice cake shop is the best. It’s chewy, delicious, and you won’t get tired of it. I've tried several rice cakes, but Injeolmi is the best! It's expensive, but it's just as delicious!
