New to the area and I’m trying different places. Came here with some friends that drove up from Brick. It looked like there was only 1 service for the entire floor on a Saturday night. Though she was lovely, I felt it was difficult for her to keep up with the amount of tables. My friend orders eggs omelette and hash browns, omelette was terrible. When we told the server, the manager nickeled and dined her saying she had to pay for her hash browns, which I purposely told her not to eat bc we were going to return the dish. I actually watched the services and bartender search for the returned dish in the busser bins to see what was left over. So the manager could justify the hash browns charge. This photo is a piece of wire I found in my left over pasta and chicken dish. I would never return to this diner, I have worked in some form of customer service my whole life (restaurants, retail, now spas), I am very well familiar with making sure customers leave satisfied and this was definitely not the case.

Very nice local diner. They serve alcohol and have a great dessert menu. I usually get the chicken Italiano Panini. Update had chicken Caesar salad sandwich - a special. It was very good

I had 2 cups of tea with 2 tea bags each. I was charged $12 or $3 each tea bag. My entree was $15.
My husband got coffee and refills. He was charged $3.
I don’t understand how anyone would charge $12 for a Lipton tea bag and hot water. You’re telling me I could have gotten a whole entree with the money spent on tea.
This is frankly ridiculous but we paid and we will not be back. Deceptive and a very bad taste in my mouth.

The River Edge Diner is exactly what a great diner should be. You’re not coming here expecting a five-star steakhouse experience...and that’s the point. If you want a solid burger and fries, a bowl of soup with a grilled cheese, or a reliable breakfast platter, this place delivers every time. What truly sets the River Edge Diner apart is the service. The staff works hard, keeps things moving, and treats customers well. It’s not an easy job, and it shows how much effort they put in...so tip your waiters and waitresses accordingly. They earn it. This is a place I’ve been coming to since I was a kid, and it’s remained a constant over the years. I’ll continue going here as long as they’re open...which, honestly, I hope is forever. A dependable, no-nonsense diner that does what it does well.

I've given this place at least 6 chances over the past 4 years. The only thing that's good are the omelettes. The regular lunch and dinner food simply isn't good.

My family hates this place for some reason. However, I think it's pretty good.
The staff are so kind, the food is tasty, and it's incredible when either eating outside or next to a window.
Obviously it's amazing going with at least 2 people and it is expensive, but it may be worth it?
Breakfast is great. The desserts are made on the premises and are delicious.

My cousins and I go almost ever other day to have great coffee and good food and awesome service. Its clean and warm and the waiters, waitresses and busboys are all so accommodating and go oit of their way to make tour meal a great one.

Great diner. Nothing fancy, but everything you'd want from a diner. Good food, clean, fast service, no waiting to be sat, reasonable prices.
Food was good as always...but our waitress did a great job tending us, very amicable, attentive and the perfect disposition. We will be asking for Sabrina in future visits.
