Nice little hole-in-the-wall place. Lovely riverside location. The sauerbraten with red cabbage and spetzel was very good. Looking forward to going back for the rouden. Nice choice of wursts available.

We dine in. They have an outdoor patio that’s covered. It has heat in the winter and fresh air in the summer and it’s right on the water. The food is fantastic as well as the service.

A na*i mannequin? Why? 🤨🤨
A na*i mannequin? Why? 🤨🤨
My son took me there a couple of years ago. First of all the entire place sits in the middle of what seems to be an abandoned and VERY poorly maintained marina with what looks to be abandoned boats and a marina so filled with sludge. I wouldnt want to try to get a canoe into it let alone a boat
We got there early before opening time and while the food was ok decent enough. The staff acted like they didnt even want us there and like they were doing us a big favor just by letting us in the door.
Wont be back

The food is fantastic. The chef and his staff are great. They make you feel like family. And what a location, you can watch the boats and wildlife along the Rancocas Creek. Phonemenal view when the sun is setting.
Vegetarian options: Mac and Cheeses, potato pancakes can be ordered without bacon, gnocchi

A best kept secret in South Jersey!Truly affordable waterfront dining featuring exceptional German fare overlooking the Rancocas Creek. The cuisine is traditional with high quality ingredients, expertly (real chef) prepared and such an outstanding value! It's also a BYOB which is an added plus.German "Mac & cheese" with spatzel delicious. Homemade perogies spot on. The German pancake appetizer is a must! The classic Sauerbraten was outstanding. The Pork schnitzel was perfection. The plank salmon tasty and simple. But, the star selection was the smoked pork chop special with gruyere, ham and fried egg. Fantastic! Kudos to the chef.Warm & friendly service with attention to detail.Don't be fooled by the humble "bric a brac" decor of the dining room (you don't eat decor). The real atmosphere and character of this place is the beautiful view of the Rancocas. Although the Rancocas is not the Rhine, the quality of the food, view, value and service are well worth the trip! A unique and very pleasant dining experience.Cash only.We can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu and dessert!

This gem of a restaurant is hidden tucked away on a side street in the homey town of Riverside, NJ, set back from the road at a marina so it sits right on the Delaware River. It's not fancy, but the food is primarily homemade authentic German and Polish dishes, which will have you remembering meals your grandmother or aunts or your favorite neighbor used to make for special occasions and neighborhood picnics. The atmosphere is casual, as befits the setting, and in the summer the walls on the dining area come down to allow for a lovely view of the boaters and the fresh breeze off the river. Fresh brewed unsweetened iced tea hit the spot after my group of friends finished a 2 mile hike on a sunny Sunday, and the sausages and pork roll are made from scratch by Executive Chef Wilhelm, who was also pinch-hitting as the server that day in addition to his kitchen magic. Our group's orders included spaetzle, bratwurst, knock-out, cedar-plank cooked salmon, chicken schnitzel, kartoffelpuffer and cheeseburgers, with an appetizer of freshly-made potato pierogies. Dessert was a to-die-for Bienenstich--two layers of a sweet yeast cake with a layer of a light, fresh vanilla Bavarian custard and topped with honey and slivered almonds.Chef Wilhelm, a first generation American, was the most welcoming and gracious host one could hope to encounter, engaging us in conversation and sharing his family's journey from Germany to the US in the 1940's. All together, the food and the friendliness made for the perfect afternoon after we worked up our appetites with our hike. The group consensus was that this is a spot we'll return to again.
