If I could give this restaurant a 10-star rating, I absolutely would! From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly gracious owners, Sangeeta & Jitu Mehta. Their hospitality alone is reason enough to visit, but the real magic lies in the food. As an Indian who is lucky to have an amazing cook at home (our mother!), I rarely find restaurant food that matches up. And my daughter—who is a notoriously picky eater, especially when it comes to Indian food—has never enjoyed Indian restaurant food… until now. She absolutely loved every bite, which speaks volumes about the authenticity and excellence of the dishes served here. We initially stopped here on our way back from a drive, but after this experience, we will make the drive just to return again and again; even tho its an hour's drive away for us. The flavors, the warmth, and the passion behind the food make this a must-visit destination, with a cosy and comforting ambiance. If you’re looking for Indian cuisine that feels like a labor of love, look no further. Highly, highly recommend!👍

I’ve been coming to The Oven Clay since 2018, and it’s hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in the area. The food is always amazing—fresh, authentic, and super tasty. Every single time I’ve been, it’s been delicious.

The owner is so nice, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. It’s just a great vibe all around.

If you’re wondering what to try, definitely get the kheema samosa—it’s my favorite! The Chicken Makhani and Lamb Korma are also fantastic, their Garlic Naam is also so so good. Honestly, anything you order here is going to be good.

EAT HERE!!! :-). Visited The Clay Oven about 3 weeks ago and boy-o-boy... this was a very hearty experience. Decided to visit two weeks later to see if we would be just as pleasantly surprised as the first time and all I can say is 'WOW'! The food did NOT disappoint! If you're looking a Michelin star restaurant this is not It. If you're looking for really amazing home cooking like grandma used to make, this is the one! It's priced right for the quality and quantity of food. We ordered food to bring home with us, which we had most of this past week until finished. Still yummy! Sunil is a star with his service!

Best Indian food in Morris county, including a good selection of vegan dishes. My “go to” restaurant for family occasions.

Tea taste is not good and pakoda with out salt served to us. Customer can order anything and we are not spending time in your restaurant.

Amazing food. For my main I got the kofta curry, which was very good but the Veggie dumpling was less of a dumpling and more of a Veggie meatball. Still good though! The chicken paneer curry was insanely good, this would be my go to next time! The stuffed peppers were huge, and the chicken tikka hit the spot. We also got a few apps - the Veggie samosa were delish as expected, the fig and date seasonal Naan with eggplant dip was SPECTACULAR, and the fried onion app was amazing. I also got the Mango Lassi and loved it. Can't wait to come back here!

My family loves going here. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and very nicely decorated. The food is delicious every time. We have always enjoyed whatever we ordered. I especially like the paneers and naans. I recommend the paneer Makhani and garlic naan. So yummy! Special thanks to Sunil for his extremely friendly service and great recommendations. My son got the mango lassi and thought it was divine. He highly recommends that. The kulfi was also amazing. They are byob but also have a nice selection of wines you can purchase by the bottle. Their Chardonnay was very good. I highly recommend!

First time experiencing Indian cusine.didnt know what to expect WOW was i impressed the owner knew this was are first time controlled spice levels to what we shared to him his chef was on spot perfect balance everything that was suggested was amazing he was a wonderful man running a fantastic Indian restaurant if your a first timer or a lover of this business this place will not disappoint ENJOY

This was our first time at an Indian restaurant. We came with our Indian friend Subash to learn about his cuisine. The food was amazing and the owner helped judge the amount of spice we should have based on what we told him and he was spot on. I learned a lot and most importantly that I love Indian food. If you are ever in this area(even if you aren't you should come here)you must try this restaurant. 💕💕💕

We ordered the chicken tikka masala, lamb, lemon rice and garlic naan. Everything was delicious!

I suggest adding cilantro to your lemon rice. We asked her very mild and it was perfectly seasoned.

Amongst all the Indian foods we’ve tried, this food is by far the best! We tried all kinds, vegetarian, meat. They were all so tasty! The spices are exquisite! The mild/medium spicy level is perfect. Definitely recommend!

When moving to Roxbury we passed The Clay Oven and said “we have to try that”. We went in tonight and had the most delicious meal! The staff made us feel like family, and the food was made fresh to order. We will be back next week!
