Went to get cookies and pastries for my mom and room-mate who was recuperating at Kessler rehab. Person assisting was friendly but she kept picking cookies that fell off the tray onto the shelf (probably not dirty?) and into my box. I stayed quiet / blind because I was trying to stay in a positive mindset as my mom was learning how to walk again at Kessler. Karma. We get what we give out. In case there is confusion as to who I am, I visited in the early morning couple of weeks ago. Also Korean/American just as frame of ethnic reference.

I bought a strawberry shortcake there for my sisters birthday. It wasn’t a good cake and it wasn’t tasteful. It was full of whipped cream and wasn’t fresh and it was mediocre. It was dry and they didn’t decorate it the way I wanted. So, disappointed and I won’t return. This was my first experience here. There’s way better places for strawberry shortcake.

they have everything homemade you could imagine, cake, cookies, patries, specialty themed cupcakes, pies, homemade bread, etc
No care for the customers at all. If you’re planning a party don’t bother calling ahead to pre order. A week before the surprise party I was planning I went in to ask if I had to preorder if I was getting large amounts of cookies and pastries. The girl at the counter told me no. The next week I called just to confirm and they told me I did have to pre order. Already confusion but I thought it’s a good thing I called to double check. So I preordered the pastries and cookies and told them my pick up time for 11am. I get a phone call at exactly 11am while I’m on my way over to pick them up and was told they ran out of the cookies I had pre ordered. No apology or anything. Then they proceeded to ask when I was picking up my order because it wasn’t written down…..??? Then they asked if I could come in later on when the cookies were done baking. What??? I was throwing a surprise party that afternoon there was no way. Then I thought maybe I’ll just get more of the pastries I had ordered to make up for the loss but when I went to look at the spots in the display cases they were empty. They didn’t prepare at all. I don’t understand why you would tell your customers to preorder ahead so you have enough cookies for other customers while also making the customer put down a deposit yet then run out. Then to ask if I could come back when I’m throwing the party? That’s just ridiculous. The girl was totally unapologetic both over the phone and when I came to pick up the cookies. Also, make sure to check your boxes before you leave the bakery. Anytime I ask for powdered sugar on the pastries they barely put it on or forget to put any at all. Cannolis were hardly filled as well. You definitely don’t get what you paid for here.

Old time Italian bakery with tons of options. I wish there was one in Morris county, New Jersey. Every single dessert, cookie or pastry is being top-notch. Definitely a must stop by when you're on that area.

The lobster tail wasn’t layered enough and was stale, instead of a ricotta base they used cannoli cream with chocolate chips lol. The cannoli cream was good though! A slice of cake seemed a bit dry - maybe it’s because it was leftovers from a long week but not the best of experience. Also was lacking flavor :/
