Saddle River Cafe

Hostess was shockingly dismissive and unwelcoming, and quite frankly, rude. I came in with just a party of two and was immediately greeted with “we have no tables.” Hostess did not offer a wait time except when prompted with the question for a wait time. Very unprofessional and disappointing considering I’ve previously dined at this cafe and had a pleasant experience in the past.

Great spot for brunch! And kid friendly which was great. They had high chairs and a kids menu.

We arrived for lunch at 12:45. Suddenly it was 1.5 hrs later. We had so much fun- we enjoyed the food- the immune “shot” the experience. The fries are to die for, the salad fresh and crisp. Idk what was better the food or the experience- if I had to say... the food. 10 out of 10. I'll be back.

Don't sleep on this gem tucked into a strip mall in lovely Saddle River. The food is lights out DELICIOUS!! Everything is fresh. Highly recommend the crabcake - we had the sandwich as well as the crabcake benedict - both absolutely light and delicious! The fries are dreamy - crispy crunchy well seasoned shoestrings that put all others to shame. Also check out the delicious fresh juices - the immune shot is served with a good dose of local honey .. yummmm! Service was perfect for our relaxed Saturday lunch. We were not rushed nor did we feel ignored. Thank you Saddle River Cafe team! We will be back!

Great service and Great food

Everything Jamie Knott touches turns to gold. Rightfully so, the food is impeccable time and time again. Fan? Not just but an enthusiast on the best there is. Truly enjoy dining at his restaurants time and time again ✨

The restaurant has a beautiful aesthetic & ambiance. After we were seated by a lovely hostess, the service just fell apart. It was not busy when we arrived but we waited quite a while before the waiter approached us and by that point, it had started to get busier. He did not offer our daughters the kids drawing activities even though the hostess gave it to the table next to us right away. Unknown to us, this also featured a kids menu on it that we were not made aware of. My younger daughter wanted simple pancakes with maple syrup and we had to order a fully toppings loaded adult serving which we she did not enjoy. When we tried to customize the pancakes while ordering, the waiter said “we have a Kids menu with burgers, etc.” We responded that she preferred breakfast food so never mind. He said nothing. Later, I finally asked the waiter for crayons and kids activities. When he brought it out, there were small pancakes on the menu which he had not mentioned...but it was too late. We were half way through our meal. It just felt as if he did not care and was not listening. Also, I chose the avocado toast and it was a mushy spread on bread that was too thick to cut with a knife. Overall, the ambiance & decor was nice but we will not return. The food was average. The staff were nice enough but this one particular waiter seemed to let them down.

Always a great meal. The salmon is consistently what we come back for. The flatbread, crab cake, sushi tuna were great appetizers, and we are never disappointed with the bread pudding for desert.

Such a great little place. The food is terrific, and the servers are fantastic. So glad we finally ate here. We'll be back!
