Wonderful outdoor dining experience! The food was great and our server Ryan K was friendly!
If an establishment is going to allow a 2:45 brunch reservation, and that reservation states the reservation time slot is from 2:45 to 4:15, then they should not have the buffet cleaned up and closed before 3:30. This is what transpired on Easter Sunday. After a quick visit from the server to take the drink order, we were never approached again to ask if we wanted anything else. One of our party never received the beverage she ordered, and the rest of us made due with water for the rest of our visit. The buffet consisted of half empty trays that were never replenished or even freshened up, cold, stale waffles that must have been made early that morning, an off-tasting omelette (hopefully not powdered eggs!), and the absolute end of a piece of prime rib, offered in small, fatty chunks. This was a very disappointing experience, and we were embarrassed to have suggested it to our relatives. The fact that the cost of well over $300 for five adults - with a mandatory 20 percent gratuity added (for non existent service), added insult to injury. We would have been better off at IHOP.
We had an amazing brunch at Saddle River Cafe! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and every member of the staff was incredibly accommodating. We also inquired about hosting a private party there in the future, and they couldn't have been more helpful or kind. You can really tell they care about creating a great experience from start to finish. Can't wait to go back!
Party of 5. Rez was easy to make on Open Table. Ashley our server was friendly and checked in on us multiple times. What looked like the manager also stopped by to check in to see how our food was. Food was very good and it came out pretty fast. Portions are reasonable (not like the huge portions you see sometimes). We've been many times and have always had great service and food. That's why we keep coming back!
Great!!! Food was delicious! Our server was a bit busy with a large party that we were seated next to, but the very lovely blonde hostess jumped in and helped out. Looking forward to returning. I think when the cafe gets packed and super noisy, the music can be turned off. All I heard was the bass which made my head throb but that's just me and my super sonic hearing.
Really great brunch spot for a family birthday gathering. Our server was excellent as well as the food
Had a lovely evening with friends at Saddle River Cafe. Apps: crab cake, tuna, Dinner: potato chip crusted fluke with spinach, Asian Noodles with chicken, Salmon..everyone loved their meal. Our server was excellent (young man-didn't get his name) was always there when you needed something and very kind. Menu is small but should be something for everyone. Will return.

Just not worth the money. Feed was good but not outstanding enough to charge $25 for eggs Benedict with one slice of Taylor

Having not eaten here before, I was really looking forward to trying the Saddle River Cafe. The food was fair. The Tuna Tacos were very good but the Crabcake was spoiled by swimming in the creamy slaw smothering the taste. For the main course, the Sesame Crusted Tuna was good but spoiled my the accoutrements which spoiled the flavor and texture. The Steak Frites was not up to expectation. The service was fine - very accommodating, but at 9.00pm the staff couldn't wait to push us out of the door. Overall the experience was fair. I had expected better. There are too many other better restaurants within a ten minute radius.

One of my favorite places for breakfast. Food ingredients are fresh, menu is well designed, presentation is great and the service is very good. I also love the outdoor seating. Quality eating-out experience. I definitely recommend.
Ambience is great. Servers are great. Food was just ok. We went for lunch. Caesar salad was drenched in dressing and salmon too oils had added to a very soggy salad. Steak and eggs dish -hollandaise sauce was also heavy handed. Ask for that on the side. Espresso was slightly bitter and a side of biscuit or chocolate would have been good with it.
This is an excellent place for a quick bite. It is not formal in any way. The lunch menu is actually more robust than the dinner menu—very few specials (1 to be exact). It is not competing with its mother ship, the Saddle River Inn, but if you are tired of the Saddle River Inn's pretentious attitude and the inability to get reservations in less than 30 days, this is the next best thing.
