Hudock’s Custard Stand is a charming spot in Salem that brings back all the classic, nostalgic feels of an old-fashioned ice cream stand. Their custard is rich, creamy, and full of flavor, just like you'd expect. I tried the vanilla and chocolate twist, and it was perfectly smooth and refreshing—exactly what I needed on a warm day!
The menu offers a nice variety of options, from traditional custard to sundaes and shakes, so there’s something for everyone. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are generous, which is always a plus.
While the custard was fantastic, I’m giving it 4 stars because the service was a little slower than expected during a busy time. It wasn’t a major issue, but worth noting if you're in a hurry. That said, the staff is friendly and clearly works hard to keep things moving.
Overall, Hudock’s is a great spot for a delicious treat, and its retro vibe makes it a fun destination. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu!

We're new to the community and very eager to try the much-hyped ice cream spot. We found marginal soft serve; I literally felt ill after their small blizzard equivalent. Service was as expected, not exceptional nor deficient. Atmosphere? It's on a highway. The facility is on an unimproved lot: no pavement or walkway, gravel and dirt parking and waiting areas, no covered protection from rain or sun. There are a few well established trees and pucnic tables spread between their ice cream and hot dog stands.

Greasy spoon roadside food stand that has served locals and shore travelers passing through since the 1940's! The food is good and cheap! Only outdoor seating, which is fine because you're surrounded by FARMS and incredibly old tall trees.
It is only open when the weather isn't cold. The opening and closing dates change each year depending on the weather. The folks working there are usually kids or the folks that have worked there forever. Plenty of space for your kids to run around and inspect friendly (keep your dog leashed like a good dog parent).
A true Salem County staple. It wouldn't be summer without Hudocks!

Vanilla custard very may be the best I have ever had. The consistency of the water ice was just ok to me. But would definitely visit again
CASH ONLY LOCATION!!!! I’ve been coming to this place since I was in High School. My parents and I would take a drive and stop for a foot long hot dog and/or ice cream. This is a nice little eatery; the staff are sweet and accommodating. The food is good, reasonably priced! If you ever want to test your stomach limits. I suggest the belly buster burger! I am partial to their cheese steaks. Also their cheese fries are a must have! Mind you it’s all outside dining. You can call ahead and order from them making pick up easy. Across the driveway is their ice cream parlor. Soft custard is a summer staple. And they amazing flavors, ranging from the originals, to some more interesting ones. I tried the their creamsicle float! Omg delicious it’s Fanta orange soda with ice cream, hence creamsicle!!! Another must have! Definitely leave the crew a tip for their hard-work! I enjoyed myself.

Best and most affordable ice cream around!!! We go weekly a family of 5 is $25! Double that at other local ice cream shops! Best butter scotch Sundays EVER!!!!!
The food is also very affordable and great! The staff is wonderful always a great experience and the kids love sitting on the cute lawn chairs & picnic tables they have! 10/10 experience and recommend this place over & over again!
