I can't really speak to the atmosphere as I've never sat down to eat in the restaurant. But I have picked up food here multiple times when visiting my parents who live in Parlin. The food is always excellent and you can tell it is made from scratch. The staff is always very nice.

Not good. We walked in at peak dinner time and there was no one there, first red flag, but we were hungry so we stayed. The place itself is actually pretty cute, if only there was some life. After the waitress took our order she pretty much disappeared, except to bring us our food. At one point the chef walked right past us, he never made eye contact or acknowledged the existence of the only patrons in the restaurant. The food had nothing to it. My wife got a burrito, it was mostly rice. I got the combo platter of chile reyeño and enchiladas, the chicken was not hot, the chile was ok, mostly cheese. I felt like I was eating leftovers at a restaurant. Would not recommend.

I will never know if this place is good or not. The front door was propped open with a chair. I immediately noticed the suffocating heat when I stepped in realizing the door was open for ventilation. I walked inside and waited to be seated. There was a gentleman having dinner. I decided to go to the restroom and wash my hands. I came back out and no one was there except for the guy eating. I asked him if anyone had come out from the kitchen. He said maybe I should go to the kitchen and let them know I was there. It started giving me Alfred Hitchcock movie vibes. At that point I decided to leave. The only thing I have to go by as far as the quality of the food are the scraps remaining on the gents plate. There wasn’t much left. I truly hope it was a once in a lifetime coincidence and that they were just having issues with their AC. Based on their ratings, this place is worth a second chance.

Owner did not welcome us. She told us we had to have a reservation after we were already sitting down. There was not many people eating there. Many tables were available. If you are not taking patrons put a sign on the door or have a hostess. Your hospitality is insulting. We've had the food before and it's pretty good. However after being treated like that I will not go back.

They have the best tacos - the shrimp tacos are my favorite! This is Mexican food done right, do yourself a favor and get you a taco from here - it will not disappoint.
If you haven’t eaten here, give it a shot. BYOB. Great prices. Food is great.

Everything is made from scratch so the food takes a while to come out, there wasn't a lot of communication from the staff but once it arrived it was worth the wait. You can tell how much pride they take in their food.
I had high hopes for this place. Walking in it looked great, authentic tex mex, well decorated and seats available. I saw it was a small family run business which I appreciate and enjoy. Menu was full of classics we all know and love. The food came and it was average. Nachos with cheese sauce, similar to what you would find at a ball park, steak was in pieces that looked like shoe leather. Taste was fine but not what I would want from a sit down restaurant. Steak I ordered was flavorful but not exactly grilled to perfection and the sauce was overpowering. I will say service was friendly and it's BYO so there are some pluses
