8/17/25 - Full disclosure: my intentions were to review the pizza and chicken parm from Rustoni's Pizza in Sayreville yesterday. But my issue was the generosity of the portions and the kind way we were treated by the staff. We placed our order and before sitting down, Andrew and I were admiring the slices in the showcase. Andrew commented how good the Margherita Pizza looked while I was probably drooling over the Drunken Grandma slices. We sat down to wait for our order and the manager called us over to pick up two slices of each to sample! He absolutely wouldn't take no for an answer. And those slices were spectacular! I didn't take pics because we were in the lobby and it would have seemed weird but we are definitely going back for a full pie of each. 😃 So, the chicken parm came with a side salad that was enormous. It would have satisfied Elaine and her search for The Big Salad 😆 I had a slice of plain so I could review it and realized there was no way I could eat the chicken parm. So that went into the fridge for Monday's lunch. The plain pizza (neopolitan style) can stand up to anything in this area and probably even places in Staten Island and Brooklyn. The sauce is so savory and the plentiful cheese meets my premium requirements. I don't want to call the crust the star here but it's definitely in top billing with the cheese and sauce. It's crispy outside and chewy and substantial inside with a great pizza dough flavor. I believe they may rub it with olive oil because it's not dry at all. And because of how substantial it is, there is no limpness at all. The chicken parm is as good as any in this area. Great breading, great sauce and more of that premium mozzarella. My only knock-- and it would be nitpicking -- is two or three of the chicken bites were stringy but definitely not the entire plate. This could be a result of reheating or simply being sliced in the wrong direction. Remember kids, slicing chicken against grain adds to making it tender. Slicing with the grain, makes it stringy. So pleased with this place. And business must be good because they grabbed the next storefront in the building, busted down the wall and opened an Italian cafe that looked pretty darn good. Andrew also commented on the foot traffic being on the heavy side as well. Overall Rating: A-

I love Rustoni’s and use to come here all the time! However, when I ordered the grandma pie a couple months ago, the cheese seemed saltier, greasier and cheaper, and the sauce wasn’t as flavorful, and the salad seemed a bit old. I thought maybe it was a one time thing since I love their pizza so much and tried it again. However, I was met with the same disappointment. It was a little cold even though I had gotten in 10 minutes after ordering, and the salad wasn’t fresh like it used to be. Still the workers are so kind and friendly. The food just doesn’t seem to be what it used to be which is disappointing…

We are really in Action NOW.. If you thaink Pizza and pastas were Amazing .. we now have Gelato and a cafe area .. This place will blow your mind .. Staff is always the sweetest .. Gooooooo Rustoni's ...You guys Rock😍😍

Grandma slices are very flavorful! Lots of thin slice choices here. Looks good and tastes better. Friendly crew, Butch thanks for the good service. Drunken Grandma slice has basil, garlic, and vodka sauce.
