HARD to believe my absolutely favorite bakery does not have a 5.0 rating! Impossible! I brake for bakeries and Simona's is MY bakery!!! I have since moved to Colorado but guess where my 1st and last stop is when I'm visiting family and friends in NJ! The cupcakes and cookies are a serious addiction and the service is outstanding.

This was DELICIOUS!! People said the best cake they ever ate! It's 3 layered cake chocolate & vanilla with chocolate pudding and cannoli fillings, fresh whipped cream frosting. So fresh, creamy, moist and flavorful! They asked me to e-mail them a picture of ideas I had for decorating the flowers off to one side. So they had a visual to go by when decorating. Best Birthday gift to myself!!

Simona's bakery has a great selection of cookies and other desserts. I really enjoy their large selection of biscotti's and different flavors as well as they have two different types of rainbow cookies, one with a apricot jelly and one with what I think is a traditional raspberry jelly. They also have a selection of butter cookies which are really great if you're bringing a box of something somewhere. The last time I came in I tend to be indecisive with so many selections and the woman behind the counter was very kind and patient with me waffling on what I wanted to get and how much of it I wanted to get. She even happily wrapped up the box because I was bringing it over to my sister's house. The shop is small but it does have a lot of items and to be honest if it was much bigger, I don't know if it would change much outside of having space for people to sit down which seems outside their business model. This seems like a great place place to stop if you were going to someone's house and needed to take a box of something or if it was the holidays and you wanted to get some desserts to bring. There is also the occasional self-indulgence and I really enjoyed the rainbow cookies.
Trust me, I used to be a chocolatier and baker.Just another run of the mill Italian bakery shop filled with hundreds of colorful cookies with the same ammareto flavor and nondescript "pastry" items none of which stand out on their merit.Their chocolate mouse "pastries" are just junky, over sweetened, artificial tasting filling enrobed in a thick gooey "chocolate" skin that tastes like fondant. No real quality ingredients...if you mix quality molten chocolate with whipped cream you will know what real mousse or ganache tastes like.Inside tastes like readi whip or frosting, mixed with amaretto essence and/or nutella. The raspberry chocolate mousse has no raspberry filling or mousse, just a dollop of jam decoration. Their case was full of all these fancy names giving the illusion you have so many choices, but they're all same with just slightly altered taste or decoration. The jam cookies were dry and crumbly.Everything tastes like fridge smell...pastries and chocolate are notorious for absorbing other smells.We ate 1 spoonful of each pastry and threw it in the bin knowing the clawing junkiness will not satisfy any human need.And the girl who works there got chocolate grease all over the box without even noticing.I got better chocolate or passion fruit mousse in ShopRite for half the price and astronomically more delicious French pastry for the same price in Princeton.

Bring you sweet tooth and be prepared to go over budget! There are too many goodies to choose from so you might just bring them all home like I did! I recommend everything with Almond paste!

SO overpriced. Purchased 1 lb of rainbow cookies and 2 black and white for 30.00!!! I dont mind paying a premium price but the product needs stand up! Rainbows were decent but b&w were dry as dry could be! Stopped back to let them know and was met with a very condenseing response. Would not recommend at all!!!

Stay away! Overcharge and UNDER DELIVER! Spent 30.00 on 1 lb of rainbow cookies and two black and white cookies. Rainbows were ok but black and white were dry as the Sahara desert! I dont mind paying a premium price but the product needs to represent the price and it DID NOT. Worst was I stopped back in to let them know and they just brushed me off! Would never go back and advise the same to others.
