Went to The Point in SIC on Friday, got there at 2pm with 14 people for afternoon drinks and planned on staying there for dinner. We had one child who was 10 with us that went in. I left shortly after to take her to the arcade to meet back up with our group at 4 pm for dinner. I specifically asked if I leave could I get back in with her after 4 and the door person said yes. Arrived back at The Point at 4:12 to be told no children after 4 pm not even for dinner. Even though their website said all children to be out by 5, the rude doorman wouldn’t let us join our group for dinner! Even though there were other children eating with there families! So all 14 left this rude place and spent our money elsewhere for dinner. Not a friendly place at all and very rude door staff!!!! Do not visit THE POINT in SIC. Take your business elsewhere for dinner and drinks!!!!
I have only been to the point to see the bands - it is a great atmosphere and vibe - good crowds each time my wife and I have gone to dance while the bands play - nice breeze right on the water - our favorite is the Verdict that plays every Sunday - we are partial to reggae/dancehall/soca - very enjoyable night out

The point has deteriorated in terms of food and entertainment since it initially opened in 2021, especially over the last two years.
The entertainment this year is terrible, especially the bands. Loud banging music with horrific performers. Living within listening distance to the club, its more bad entertainment than good. Food is still just OK – if you are starving, eat there, if you can wait even Wawa would be a better option.
Overall, go to Patty’s on The Green for a better environment and entertainment

Our server was great! We loved him. Food was meh typical bar food, our friend ordered a chicken sandwich and it wasn’t fully prepared. Probably wouldn’t eat here again lol but we’d come for a drink! Probably just a drinks and vibe place!

Crabbin’ and Vibin’ – A Family Gem Near the Bridge
Our family loves+ crabbing under the 9th Street Bridge in OCNJ—it's one of our favorite vacation rituals. But this time, on the way out of town, we discovered something we should have known about way sooner: The Point in Somers Point. And now it's officially part of the tradition.
This place? PERFECT. We’ve got a big toddler, a big kid, and two teens—so finding a restaurant that hits the mark for everyone is rare. But The Point nailed it. First off, the whole spot is basically built on sand—my kids genuinely thought we were at the beach. Add live music (a hilarious duo playing classic beach covers you can sing to), shaded tables, and tons of space to play? Heaven.
We grabbed a comfy six-top in the sand, ordered lunch, and played giant Connect Four and cornhole while we waited. (Which wasn’t long!) The food? Even better than the vibes. The crab fries with creamy cheese sauce were gone in seconds. The Caribbean crab cake? A whole situation—fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable. Everyone left full, happy, and a little sun-kissed.
We’ll be back for sure—whether it’s a pre-crabbing fuel-up or a post-crabbing victory meal. The Point is now our Point.
