Went to Hemingways Monday and had a great meal with friends and family. Such a great place to enjoy music, live bands, DJ's. Cold drinks. The atmosphere like I had said before is an amazing. I had gone into a competing restaurant on the boardwalk for tacos but the person who sat us put us directly in front of the beer taps leaving us with 10" of space to eat! Ugg

Do not even bother wasting your time here! I paid $50 for an open bar this NYE. Not only were the bartenders slow and bitter, but the bar didn’t have champagne or wine. It is even advertised that there is a midnight toast with champagne, which did not happen at all. The servers were constantly walking around and picking on people, telling them they couldn’t be in certain areas. It seemed like that was the last place they wanted to be was working there. The music was mediocre & I couldn’t imagine it being much better as a cafe. I will never be back.

I called to ask a question and a raspy voiced gay guy answered…(Im not sure who it was but I have an idea)…when I asked if they were open, he nastily replied where else would I be in Hawaii? Wow, is that how you treat your patrons? Since this place opened, I have been a regular. I will tell you that you will no longer receive my business or any of my associates. Good luck and hurry up and sell it because you guys are washed up and your customer service is absolutely atrocious!!

I cannot believe how RUDE the man was who answered the phone. I simply asked if they were open and got a smart ass remark..... something about, "no, I'm in Hawaii answering the phone". Should I have just hung up after he answered?? Needless to say we didn't bother going there. After reading reviews, the food and service is terrible anyway.

Well they just dropped down to one star... Called to ask if they were open and a snarky nobody answered the phone probably the son or the father and said, where else would I be Hawaii? Now that sounds funny but they were dead serious. They were not kidding. It wasn't a joke. He was so rude and arrogant. Just as an FYI you can be there and the restaurant closed. You clowns need to sell this place so someone that has real customer service and great food can replace it. You guys are the worst restaurant owners in Seaside. Good bye.

Worst place I've ever been. A real dump with unprofessional service and completely rude. Gives the Jersey Shore a bad name.....and that's saying a lot! Don't go unless you want to be treated like slime.
Go here if you want to be treated to mediocre appetizers, awful service, and nasty comments from your server. This place gives credibility to the negative stereotypes of the "Jersey Shore" The atmosphere is chilling; worthy of a boardwalk haunted house imbedded with some very scary characters, especially our server. The bartender was the only salvation and we had to walk up to her whenever we needed a drink. (And by the end of this perilous journey we needed several) Honestly, I don't know how this place stays in business. If you have any self respect stay away from this nightmare.

This was an awful nightmare. Go if you like abusive servers and mediocre food. Be sure to have a few drinks before going so you can tolerate it. There are literally hundreds of restaurants nearby that would be a better choice.

Our waiter was definitely on something, the staff seemed overworked (or over-partied), the two tables around us were obnoxious, and the paella was tragic. Appetizers were pretty good tho (even though they got the order wrong). L Hemingway’s

Burger wasn't bad but not the best burger ever or anything like that. My mom loved her steak and talked about it for a week so there's that too lol. Nice place and service wasn't bad though our waiter did disappear at the end. :P

Mediocre meal. Host was rude and aloof. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Food runners were clueless. Brought us the wrong meals after waiting almost 45 minutes and needed to be reminded we ordered soup. Dinner came right after soup since it was so late. My Seafood was good, nothing write home about. Wife’s Salmon was mediocre.Not worth the $97 bill before tip, and we had no alcohol. And the place was 1/4 full. No reason for the poor service.
